I would like to also add my experience as a young Christian saved out of Romanism.i had a AV study bible (good old Matthew Henry) but found myself reading his comments in the margin instead of being a Berean.I now have a Bible (text only) that I search and pray over for wisdom.The Holy Spirit is the best teacher.But have been helped along my journey by several old Puritan writers along the way.But I know that I will give an account for what I did with Gods Word not man's writings. Just my thoughts.

To Christopher000, To answer your question concerning attending a mass, A resounding absolutely NO!! Will not go to any wedding,funeral,etc for any RC member of our family.Will never set foot in that synagogue of Satan EVER. This has cost us most of our family. But Jesus Christ said it would cost to follow Him. We do it gladly for all He did for us!
I was raised in that heretical system. The nuns and priests taught from a Baltimore catechism not the Bible.Was told by many that the first 11 chapters were just an allegory,jewish folklore. When the Lord in his mercy glorious revealed Himself and the gospel of grace and opened my eyes,I fled that false system of works and man made traditions. To God be all the glory!
