John for JESUS from Atl writes: Lurker... Acts 15:11 NASB But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are." The Jewish men were saying they were saved in the same manner as the Gentiles. Not sure why you would say the Jews weren't saved, but I can only assume it has something to do with your antisemitism or anti-Jewish sentiment. What a nasty thing to say to someone just because you disagree with them J4J! And, not only did you call him an anti-semite, but you also constructed a complete strawman! |

To The Skeptics:Just a couple years ago, I didn't want to believe that only God could choose to save us. I wanted to be master of my own destiny, wanted to have a relationship with God on my terms. But then I came accross a couple of the verses I have sited in my posts. I didn't want to believe it. I fought it, I found every argument I humanly could for why it "wasn't true". But those verses still bothered me. I studied deeply into the meaning of each of those verses, I scoured the Bible, trying to find the truth so my conscience would let me have rest and peace. I dug int the original Greek and Hebrew, read multiple commentaries, read every verse I could, and they were all pointing in one directin: God controls salvation. It's his gift realy. Would you go up to the Gift Giver and tear a gift from his hand without invitation? He chooses who recieves, and who doesn't, no one who doesn't get a gift will want one. It is in our human heart to hate God and everything he offers to us. Only those that he chooses will love and want Him. |

Ephessian 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: note4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; |

John for JESUS from Atl writes: JayJay... I wasn't making light of scripture. Don't confuse the WCF and TULIP with scripture! If I want to know what God says about Himself and salvation, I go to His Word. The whole idea that faith is imputed upon the unwilling is false and though you may argue, that is what Calvinist teaches. Only God gives us the grace to be willing, There are two full pages of verses here I can send to you, but I think these few will do: Matthew 22:14 For many are called but few are CHOSEN. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you. Ephessians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: I have many other verses lined up that I can post for you, so if you want to read them please holler! |
