I'm unfamiliar with this. However, it is a shame that we must have any sort of so-called "declaration". If the gospel was plainly DECLARED from the pulpits of our churches there would be no need for other declarations.

These people need to know about the ONLY sacrifice that really matters. I hope and pray that multitudes in this part of the world will be reached with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Bryan has some interesting points it seems. I would not be surprised if only 2% of the church gives out the gospel. We'd rather invite sinners to the next church supper. MAYBE they'll hear the gospel.

Also, we should attempt to reach ALL with the gospel of Jesus Christ. NO PERSON should be left out. However, we should never lower Bible standards to do so.

I agree, guys. We are trying to "pretty up" the gospel. You know, decorate it real nice so that it is not so unpleasant to anyone. The only problem with that is the fact that the gospel of Jesus Christ IS unpleasant to the natural, unsaved person. Nothing can change that.

However, I believe there is a more subtle problem than the worldly pleasures found in our churches. Many pastors are so infected with the "numbers" disease that they'll do just about anything to have a big (and bigger) crowd. A large number of people is fine, IF you have a passion to reach the lost. But many pastors, I'm afraid, are more interested in the image of their churches.

None of these things influenced the apostle Paul. He never felt the need to dilute or pollute the gospel to make it attractive. He just went out into a hostile world, preached the pure gospel, saw multitudes saved and turned the world upside down. That's the way God works. He ALWAYS blesses and honors the Word of God. Of course, Paul suffered greatly for his actions. He was persecuted, not "popular". Oh, that we would do as much!!

The church desires to look, sound and act like the world. Reason? To attract the world. Result? The world is not impressed. It knows a phony when it sees one. When a sinner sincerely seeks God he doesn't need more of what he already has. He knows it doesn't work. He looks for and expects something different. He wants reality. That's why the church in Acts was so mightily used of God. It WAS different. It didn't try to look, sound and act like the world at that time. God has promised to honor the Word above all--nothing else. The church in Acts understood that.

As long as the church attempts to hold the Lord with one hand and the world with the other it will remain weak and powerless.

Again, it all comes back to this: God's Word is sufficient. When churches began to replace the importance of preaching the Bible with worldly compromise it was fatal. The mighty revivals of the past were the direct result of men of God preaching the Word of God. Worldliness? None! Compromise? None! Pure preaching of the Bible and nothing else. Now, of course, worldly methods are used because the Bible has been mostly laid aside for something fleshly and entertaining. We must "help" God. The result is to be expected--weak churches, spiritually immature Christians and no true revival.

As for the proper music in church, we are told to sing "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs". This is not the kind of music that appeals to the flesh. This is not worldly, carnal music. If you hear music you should not have to wonder if it is spiritual or secular. There should be no doubt. How many rock concerts include the singing of hymns? None. You can be certain of that. Sadly, many churches sound like a rock concert. The world does not compromise, but the church does. SHAMEFUL!

My prayer is that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ will return to the Word of God and stay there.

The church lost its strength when it embraced the world. Just like Samson, it imagines a power that is not there. More and more people are going to church to satisfy the flesh with the worldy entertainment presented.

We are told in God's Word not to be conformed to the world. Christians are commanded to come out of the world. Instead, we use worldliness as a ridiculous excuse to reach the world. As a result, the church has been infected with a lack of power. What the world really needs is not there.

In the book of Acts we see the church at its finest. It turned the Roman Empire upside down. And it did it WITHOUT compromise with the world. The Bible, God's Word, was enough. Always has been, always will be. We don't have to "help" God by decorating the church with worldly attractions.

Oh, good! MORE wordly entertainment. MORE compromise. Now, will this replace the rock music in most of our churches?

And we wonder why so many churches have become weak and powerless.

Say what you mean and mean what you say or keep your mouth shut. If what you've said is true leave it at that and don't back down.

Homosexuality has many allies in America. The liberal media, Hollywood, television, etc. all influence thought and opinion. Sodomy is continually portrayed as normal. Other parts of the world, however, are not infected with such absolute nonsense. Without such influence homosexuality is naturally considered abnormal and perverted.

If they want to play rough, then--PLAY ROUGH! Listen, not everyone who is against sodomy is a believer. They just have enough sense to know that such a thing is completely abnormal and perverted. Now, combine those people with (real) Christians and you have a number that is overwhelming. Go on the offensive and do WHATEVER it takes to win a total victory!

What's behind it? Well, the word "stupidity" comes to mind. This is what happens when logic and thinking are traded for touchy-feely PC nonsense.

Some thoughts on this matter:

The mighty Romans sat in their senate discussing what could be done about the barbarian threat. They did not know that they were sitting next to some of them.

Although outnumbered, Islamic terrorists are smart--and patient. They take an indirect approach to their planning. Five years or more is worth a successful attack.

Want some good models to follow? Two come to mind. PAST-the Old West. PRESENT-the Israeli army. Terrorists aren't treated well in Israel. That would be merciful compared to the Old West. Radical? Too intense? Well, I suppose we could continue down the path of make-believe (PC nonsense).

Talking and reasoning with terrorists is useless. The only thing they understand and respect is force.

Of course, it is my firm belief that this trouble is a direct result of America's turning from God and the Bible.

I served in the military back in the '70s. There's a reason most of us were in good shape entering basic training. We didn't spend our childhood watching hour after hour of TV, playing video games, etc. Nor did we stuff our guts with sweet, fatty junk. We stayed outside most of the time and stayed active. The youth of today is just the opposite. Besides that, they completely avoid exercise. The absence of reading good literature only adds to the problem. All of this has something in common - a lack of physical and mental EFFORT. In other words, laziness. Everything must involve pleasure, fun and so on. Parents MUST get their children involved in an active, responsible lifestyle. If not, even greater problems than the military are a certainty in the future.

Two things I'd like to say.

First, notice that homosexuals must create laws to make their perversion appear to be natural. If it was indeed natural no laws would be required.

Also, former homosexuals who have been saved and delivered from such ungodly bondage should be at homosexual events to witness to others still bound. There are several ministries established by those redeemed from this lifestyle.
