Warning Against Denouncing Christ
Dr. James White

“ Welcome to Sermon Audio ”
I never miss an episode of Dr. White's Dividing Line Radio program, so when I heard he had set up a Sermon Audio account, I was thrilled. I was one of those who contacted him about why P.R.B. Church had their sermons all in Real Audio, and he said he didn't maintain the site. SO, I hope they will put his SS lessons on the Synoptics here as well. Great stuff, (so I don't have to convert them with Jodix!) I look forward to this Hebrews series.

“ Great Preaching ”
I only recently discovered the preaching of Art Azurdia last week on www.monergism.com His Hebrews series, what I sampled, was just solid. So, naturally, I wanted to find out about everything he has preached. One exhortation from his Jonah series alone was so moving to me, I clipped a five minute sample to send to my friends to sit up and take notice. I thought to myself, "this man has been preaching for 24 years and I had never heard of him?" I am glad to find this series and this morning downloaded it to my MP3 player. May God give us more preaching like this, Christ centered, passionate, exegetical, and great communication.

“ Excellent Preaching! ”
I first met Frank in the Mid 1980's when he was finishing up his ministerial studies at T.M.A. I would ask for an update from time to time, but the last I saw him in about 1992, I had to refresh his memory as to who I was. All these years I remembered him and his family, but this is the first sermon I have ever heard him preach. The pathos and communication skills were so surprising and gratifying I called up A.N.M this afternoon to ask for an update on Frank. I said that persons who preach this well should be preaching often. He was glad that I had noticed this as well. My only regret is I don't know where to get more of his sermons. But I will certainly be edified by this one a few more times! Thanks!

“ A Hearty Amen! ”
After hearing 7 other messages from two other RBCs, about contextualization and cultural relevance, this was a welcome reminder of the old paths. There is one question on this subject that in our day would hardly be asked: if the service is embellished for a certain effect, isn't it possible that our worship would be moved more by what the old authors called "animal passions" than true religious affections? This question is asked in Pike and Hayward's Cases of Conscience, 1755, quest. 1. How shall we distinguish between the workings of natural affection, and the real exercise of grace in religious worship? I would say minimally we must attempt to keep our worship pure to avoid natural affections only.

Romans, #46
Greg Nichols

“ Solid Exegesis ”
Today I heard messages 44-46. This represents Bible exposition at its best. There is a great combination here, (1)experience since Pastor Nichols has taught Romans 1-8 a few times, (2)passion, (3)accuracy - especially when there is a lot of muddle headed thinking on who is the man in Romans 7:14-25 from D M Lloyd-Jones to Robert Reymond - appendix Syst. Theology, and others, it not only is edifying to hear the text opened up correctly,(4)it is pastoral because we live in these verses until- as Gurnall wrote - 1662, the flesh and the armor go off the stage together.

Thanks for the blog and pictures. We have had the pleasure of having Pastor Castillo in our home, since my wife is from Santo Domingo, D.R. We have been thinking of him a lot and heard an interview from the Haitian translator from IBSJ of Pastor Castillo of the situation in Haiti. It was quite moving.

“ Interesting Sermon! ”
This is a subject that has occupied my attention for years. I have examined it at some length hoping that someone who can see through the matter more clearly at a PH.D. level would do a better historical analysis. But I offer mi dos centavos. http://www.thereformedpastor.net/preparat.html Rarely do I hear an analysis of this subect in our day without the conviction that a straw man is created about what the Puritans called, "a law work" and that this is what is addressed. To really get to the bottom of this issue means that what the puritan and Edwards taught not be misunderstood. Minimally I wish Shedd's Dogmatic Theology on the subject of regeneration would be required reading for pastors.

“ Great Visual Effects ”
Though this video has been around for awhile, it has over 33,000 views on You Tube, Pastor Martin never saw it until today - Dec. 14, 09. I put it on a flash drive and we viewed in on his computer. I believe that his one concern was that it may have given a wrong impression of his preaching because it is somewhat embellished, but I shared numerous user comments with him and told him it really sobered me. The actual sermon on Sermon Audio is SID=101803153426 and is part of a series called Signposts. It was preached in 1994 which was near a time when Pastor Martin was returning from a sabbatical for health reasons. Pastor Martin is writing more than preaching these days and we look forward to his future books.

“ Great Sermon! ”
These two messages were very thought provoking and well researched. It was so interesting to find solid theologians and pastors on both sides of the issue, and what they had to say. The question that inevitably arises comes out of the sins prohibited in the 5th commandment, since that is the foundation of this study. If certain criteria can be met that allows a revolution against a tyrannical oppressive government in a country, why then couldn't the same arguments be pressed so that a wife can revolt against an oppressive husband, or children against oppressive, abusive parents? It makes me wonder if G I Williamson may not be the safer guide in this. (See also R L Dabney - The Practical Philosophy section on Duties of the Family, p 365.)

“ Minor Correction ”
In the introduction to Princeton Seminary in 1812, I said that Ashbel Green taught all of the classes, I meant to say Archibald Alexander. (2)A question was brought up, about the use of the name Presbyterian Church in America. Though the P.C. USA ordered the new denomination founded by Machen to desist using that name in 1934, a denomination by this name was formed in 1973 headquartered in GA.

“ Great Sermon! ”
After having someone leave our church recently because he had embraced N.C.T. teaching, this sermon was so excellent. Pastor Nichols has been very helpful in this exposition to show how each mention of the moral law is supported by its context. That alone made me want to hear it twice today, but the delivery itself is Pastor Nichols at his best. I love this kind of preaching! TMS

“ Very Good Opening of Owen ”
This series by Pastor Bryant is well delivered, far exceeding my expectations. Between having this series on Tempation, and Les Walthers on the Mortification of Sin SID=826071918246, I am thankful for such additions on Sermon Audio. But even more so is the gift of having Bart and Lael and their families as personal friends. Thanks again for this S.S.

“ Thanks for this series ”
Just discovered this series this morning, downloaded all of them. If someone told me of a church where the Religious Affections by J Edwards, Of Temptation by John Owen were being taught in S.S. and the pastor was going through the book of Galatians, I would reply, "sounds like one healthy church to me." Thanks so much!

“ Interesting tour ”
It is interesting to get this tour from Dr. Beeke himself, I have only been in that room for a few minutes, and just to gaze at a set of works by Joseph Hall 1574-1656, made my day. The highlight of this video, however, are the words, I am not antiquarian just to be antiquarian" because no puritan would have wanted someone to "burn incense unto their drag" but wanted us to see past them to their Lord and Savior.

“ Great Interview ”
Few things get placed on Sermon Audio that have immediately struck my interest like an interview with the person who is responsible for it all. Some of us feel like we live on this site, we look at the statistics, new subscribers, new interesting sermons, as tenaciously as an intelligence agency looks for some new information. How can I not be interested in learning more about the mind that put this all together, and yet Steve does not promote himself so the site has been veiled in a kind of mystery. What would be interesting would be a documentary called The Sermon Audio Story, how this site got to where it is today. TMS - Michigan

“ Very Edifying ”
In this sermon Pastor Pizzino hints that a frequent pulpit swap between Roanoke and Mebane would give Roanoke the better end of the deal. This sermon shows that as far as communication abilities, pathos, and expositional skills, the Pastors Gary and Randy are every bit equal. My only regret is the limited number of Pizzino's sermons on Sermon Audio. This is an excellent overview of Romans 1:29... Listen! Please give us more!

“ Worth hearing all of these ”
I have been listening to this series for some time, but this one was so intriguing I just had to call attention to it. What a sorry thing is wrought by ambition. The competition for the throne, the suppression of the greatest teaching since the apostles - i.e. the Puritans - in unrighteousness... Great background information as I prepare a Sunday School on the Puritans. Doubtless the persecutions these godly men faced added to their ability to dissect the Christian heart as has hardly been equaled.

“ Excellent Lecture ”
Thanks Pastor Baggett... It is always good to learn about fellow Reformed Baptist churches that I have previously not been aware of. Especially when I can hear a church history lesson given this well. I was prepping for a S.S. lesson myself on the Puritans and found this lesson and Olyotts SID=212081157420, quite instructive. Now I want to hear some of your Hebrew series as well, = Thomas, Reformed Bapt. Church - Holland, MI

“ Great Sermon! ”
I have already made it no secret that Rich Anderson is one of my favorite preachers. Though there are only a handful of his sermons on Sermon Audio, they are all worth listening to, though it is worth subscribing to their church podcast as well. Since I have commented on all his sermons here, no more will be said. Just listen!
