Do you think that Pope Joseph Ratzinger will be prosecuted for paedophilia too? Have the police concluded their investigations thus far on his case? How many priest paedophiles do you think remain active and under cover of bishop and Vatican?

“ Great Sermon! ”
"Ideas have consequences, and we are going to have to live with the consequences for another 50 years or so!" Why, what is going to change for the better in another 50 years or so?

In relation to your statement above I would have to ask, "What do you believe about God's ability of foreknowledge"?

However the question as to whether God creates the soul at birth, or earlier, is an old theological debate.
1. "Creationism" - holds that God creates a new soul at the birth of every individual.
2. "Traducianism" - holds that the souls as well as the body originates by propagation.
3. "Pre-existence" - (early church) holds that soul existed in a previous state.

Hence the reason for my applying the question in this "very modern" context.
In the old days the Reformed Church preferred creationism - Lutherans went for Traducianism. RCC - "souls are created at their infusion into the body" (Peter the Lombard).

It is obviously a question which mortals can only speculate upon.

However I do agree that abortion is wrong and I tend to see it as culpable killing, since if the termination had not been applied, the foetus/soul would go on to birth and life. Thus to stop this by man is killing.

Does God provide the soul/life in conception?
If so would HE decline to place a soul/life at conception, which was not going to be allowed to live?

Does any one know anything more about the following quote taken from the English Churchman:

"Since the current director of the institute (of New Testament textual criticism) in Munster has publicly declared the 'Alexandrian text' to be dead, the Byzantine text must now receive the attention that it deserved all along."

What is this Institute in Munster?

John UK wrote:
A read through church history will reveal that God himself has used godly women in pulpits for the furtherance of his kingdom in the salvation of souls.
Has God used godly women in the pulpits of the churches or have these women been disobedient to the Word of God? Why would God go against His own word and use these women to preach in the churches?

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(1Co 14:34-35)

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
(1Ti 2:11-12)

“Is the Jesus Christ in your Bible the one who lied in John 7:8 as the NASB and ESV read?"

John 7:8-10 KJV Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up YET unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

"Here we read of Jesus telling his brethren to go up unto a feast and He says: "I go NOT up YET unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Gallilee. But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret." He did in fact go up to the feast."

"However Sinaiticus says: "I DO NOT GO to this feast", and so do the NASB, ASV, RSV, ESV and Wallace's NET version thus making our Lord a liar."

"The fickle nature of this so called "science" is also seen in that Westcott and Hort originally read "NOT YET" and so did the previous Nestle-Aland critical texts up until a few years ago. But the more recent ones have "scientifically" changed to now read "I do NOT go to this feast."”

Hello Presbyfacts,

I heard that some pastors were made to leave the Free Presbyterian Church because they were paedobaptists. Is this fact or rumour? what happened?

It ties in perfectly with the gospel I preach, and the answer to the question: "What must I do?" is:
1. Repent..
2. Believe...
3. Receive
Are these three things done before or after regeneration? In other words, do I become regenerated by the Holy Spirit because I have done these things or do I do these things because I have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit?

A fairly lengthy article, but well worth the read.
Is the article you posted advocating the governmental theory of the atonement?

"The governmental view of the atonement (also known as the moral government theory) is a doctrine in Christian theology concerning the meaning and effect of the death of Jesus Christ and has been traditionally taught in Arminian circles that draw primarily from the works of Hugo Grotius…governmental theory holds that Christ's suffering was a real and meaningful substitute for the punishment humans deserve, but it did not consist of Christ receiving the exact punishment due to sinful people. Instead, God publicly demonstrated his displeasure with sin through the suffering of his own sinless and obedient Son as a propitiation. Christ's suffering and death served as a substitute for the punishment humans might have received. On this basis, God is able to extend forgiveness while maintaining divine order, having demonstrated the seriousness of sin and thus allowing his wrath to "pass over"."

How many EU seats are there? Just wondering if 667 exists, and has it been filled?
