PursuitofTruth wrote: Many of you guys have said that Mormons don't believe in the same Jesus. This is utter hyperbole! They worship the same God, but in a slightly different way. I never said that they were perfect in their theology, but they are not a cult. Just because they believe in some slightly different things does not mean that they're a cult. And by the way, only the extreme fringe of Mormonism believes in the whole men becoming gods thing. Mormonism is a cult of lies and heresies,i spent many years in it so tell me what you know ? talk to somebody who knows something about it. I am not familiar with the little white lie luke warm Mormons you speak of. |

John UK wrote: Well you'll have to take that up with your fellow American posters who keep me informed about the sad state of the church over there, and that some of them to attend a decent church would have to spend most of the Lord's Day travelling. Dispies claim that in the very last days there will be a general falling away of the church as it nears the end of the church age before the millennium. I guess they are happy to see it. However, according to the word, we are given everything we need for a spiritual life, the power of the Holy Ghost is unchanged (because he is God), therefore a need for revival is an admission that we as the church are fallen down somewhere, and need to repent. I do know that God has said in the past that his people were more concerned with their own houses than with HIS house, and that they needed to repent of this. I don't see any harm in pointing that out. Especially as some may think about it and turn around back to God. We have a lot of people over here condemning America, but can't seem to get any of them to leave.America and Americans would do well to first return to God and second show the door to all the critics and those who hate America but can't seem to find it within themselves to go home. |

John UK wrote: "Studd emphasised the life of faith, believing that God would provide for a Christian's needs. His father died while he was in China, and he gave away his inheritance of £29,000, specifying £5,000 to be used for the Moody Bible Institute, £5,000 for George Müller mission work and his orphans, £5,000 for George Holland's work with England's poor in Whitechapel, and £5,000 to Commissioner Booth Tucker for the Salvation Army in India." wiki C T Studd, a worthwhile read, compared to the hedonistic Christians of today, who seem to have no care for the poor nor the lost. The "poor" in America live better than any poor people on earth, the majority of "lost" in America are so because of their love for their sin and the fact that the consequences of their sin has been moderated by the welfare state,if you can live bad and live good as well there is no reason to change....perhaps you are talking about your own country and your own people. |
