Where in the Bible(AV) does it say he was born on the 25th of December?
Where in the Bible is even the word Sunday?
These are conventions from Fathers of earlier generations.

Thirteen days after Western Christmas, on January 7th, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates its Christmas, in accordance with the old Julian calendar. It's a day of both solemn ritual and joyous celebration.

So if your family is from the East, more than likely, you'll be celebrating Christmas in almost two weeks.

If you're in the West, you celebrate it today.

Merry Christmas and Happy Lord's Day Sunday to you and yours.

To anyone who claims to have a pope,
Read Revelation 17.
Your "church" is mentioned in the bible, not in Acts, but in Revelation. She has a name: "MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."
John wrote in Rev 17:6, "And I saw the woman druken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Your interpretation is just one of many:
]]Whore of Babylon.

If the Roman Catholic Church is this Whore of Babylon and the Pope is the Antichrist but also the most pro-marriage, pro-family and pro-life leader on the planet, something in your logic is twisted.

How can the man who protects the weakest of all humans, the embryo, has protected the very Holy Scriptures we read for 2,000 years and has defended the faith from heresy by the Nicene Creed for 1,600 years be the Antichrist?

(1.) If God were to call you to singleness tonight and every night hereafter for decades to come would He not equip you to do just that (Phil 4:13)?

(2.) Mother Teresa (and almost every other formal Christian saint) was single and didn't live a forgotten and tragic life. And neither must you, even if you're called to a life of singleness.

Don't let the low expectations of others become your reality.

A noted Reformed pastor recently released this title, "Jesus + Nothing = Everything," which says it all.

Even "Sola Fide" is not from us but is infused in us by Jesus.

And as important as Faith is, the greatest infusion from Christ is Love.

For without Christ I am nothing. I am His problem. But with Christ in us we have it all. For He is our everything.

May His love increase in me and I decrease.

Good dialogue.

How is a day designated by the Roman Catholic Church as Christmas "unholy"? Also, how is a day designated as Easter or Resurrection Sunday "unholy"?

Pelikan correctly understands that the Catholic Church holds the Protestant church in Her arms.

Just because Protestants (and many Catholics) talk back to their Mother doesn't mean She isn't.

Let's see...

If it's Monday-Friday I get up and go to work so I can glorify God and get paid so I can support my family to do likewise.
Check.

If it's Sunday I get up and go to Church to glorify God and to support my family to do likewise.
Check.

Buuuuut, if it's Sunday *and* Christmas simultaneously I stay home to ________________?

Can someone help me "do the math" on this one?

If President Obama gets re-elected (and it's likely he will with the lackluster list of Republican candidates), he'll not only make the gateway drug to liberalism, The (abortifacient) Pill, available free 24/7 but also The Pill's younger daughter: Clinical Abortion.

The only non-negotiable plank in his platform is: Abortifacients of every stripe for every girl and woman -- free for the asking. Akin to the "bread & circuses" at the fall of the Roman Empire.

But what drives a President to be so savage?

Even Luther's ludicrous (OSAS) "murder a thousand times a day" challenge pales in comparison to the ]]115,000 worldwide abortions per day that our President supports and finances.

Were these leaders all perpetually lying for 100s of years?

Not losing your salvation is biblical truth, not just reformed theology.

Point out a "soundly-saved" Christian and in 5-10 years, I'll show you a porn-addicted divorced apostate.

Once-saved always-saved works from God's view, but from ours, it's an assumption that ends with a congregation also accusing the apostate of having lived a perpetual lie.

In this respect alone are the homosexual and Reformed communities similar:

Reformed: Once saved always saved.
Homosexual: Once gay always gay.

For the reformed camp, one can never lose his salvation.
For the gay, one can never lose his homosexuality.

This battle of the wills will be interesting to watch.

Protestants do not have the Autographs. Only the RCC would have them.

The wonder is what happened to the Signed Originals?

The Roman Catholic Church keeps its attic so full of goodies it's a wonder they don't have the Autographa.

However if the RCC had the Autographa, how could you identify it?

And if Protestants scraped together all their hard-earned money would that be enough for the RCC to part with the NT Originals?

Yes sir.

Loads of sinning Catholics who've disobeyed the Church's 2,000 year constant teaching against birth control. They've taken up the gateway drug to liberalism: The Pill. And voila, they're devout liberals with merely a Catholic heritage. They've cut themselves off from God's mercy through their lack of faith, self-love and disobedience.

Like the rich young ruler who asked how to be saved but refused to give away his worldly idols (e.g., wealth, birth control, fame) as Jesus required of him, legions of Catholics have excommunicated themselves.

If you discovered a Gutenberg Bible (a maximum of only 550 years old) at an auction, how would you validate its age and authenticity? Or would you presume it a forgery from the outset and not consider purchasing it?

Likewise, how does one prove the SoT a fake?

G.K. Chesterton said he knew the Catholic Church was for him because when he left his umbrella at the back of a Methodist Church it was still there, but when he left it at the back of a Catholic Church it was stolen.

It's still full of sinners. I know. I'm the chief of them.
