The Holman CSB is translated directly from Greek/Hebrew for one. To be honest, I think that translation is MUCH better then the KJV.
The HCSB is also very proud of how many overall words they have removed. By the way which version of the HCSB is the more accurate? The older or the newer?

I have a program called Wordsearch 9 and the nice thing about that is I can check for HCSB updates frequently to be sure I have the latest word updates, because they keep changing them.

I wrote a nasty letter to Max Mclean one time, because I was certain he was purposefully reading the wrong word in his Audio book of Revelation (single) which was HCSB. To my surprise, he was reading word for word, just the older version than my updated new one from Wordsearch. (creepy creepy creepy)

Good luck with that one.
(ps I don't believe in luck and don't need it with the KJB anyway)

NASBiness...
I had just purchased an NASB Inductive Study Bible in 2007, and was all excited to really get into this method of Bible study. I also had e-sword and made my own quad to read through the entire Bible with 4 versions.

Then I noticed something...
The NASB was translating an animal name as Porpoise, which would be an unclean animal, for placement on Holy things? They were not to even touch the carcass! Would they place it on the Holy Tabernacle? Or on their feet? I guess there would be an abundance of Porpoise skins laying all over the desert wilderness, so it is possible it was just easy picking.
Exod 25:5 Exod 26:14 Exod 35:7

Num 4:6 Num 4:8 Num 4:10 Num 4:11
Num 4:12 Num 4:14 Num 4:25

Then I heard about Gail Riplinger for the first time, and while reading the official rebuttal from the Lockman Foundation who produces the NASB, cheering them on, I ran across their defense of B.F. Westcott's naming his pet dog with a specific demon name. When I looked up the what this demon name was, I found that it was the name of a demon that "helped God" create the creatures in the sea. (according to this specific demonology paper I read)

Maybe nothing, but this was the turning poin

After all the versions issue and even sitting on the NKJV Committee, He is a strong King James Bible supporter.

Reminds me of Frank Logston who was so involved with NASB (board or committee or Lockmans friend) When he gave his testimony of seeing the damage done by that translation. "I was in trouble with the Lord" I heard his lament in an audio sermon. He too then clung to the reliable King James Bible with great conviction.

"KJV only" advocates say yes!
It seems quite disingenuous to say "too bad this NEEDS repeated... then to build a straw-man UN-reliable case.

The Ruckmanism you refer to is not the heart of the issue, but is only made so by uneducated or purposefully deceptive proponents of this controversy, apparently intending to further distort the facts. It is this kind of disregard for the truth of this matter that really makes it difficult to dig to the bottom of the pile of trash thrown in from both sides.

Bad call to consider the extreme fringes as absolutes. Ruckmanism and Riplingerism are neither one reliable, but probably do more damage than good (at least for me). They both seem to rely on sensationalism to drive their doctrine.

To really understand the issue both sides should read "The King James only controversy, Can you trust modern translations?" By James White.
I've been praying and fasting and studying this issue since 2007. I have purchased James White and David Cloud material along with others on this matter.

As far as I can tell, James White believes all of God's Word exists in all the MSS available, but doesn't believe in a preserved single source. "All truth is God's" truth seems to be the mystic mantra he espouses.

David Cloud and others similar in the King James Bible Defenders camp, insist that God preserved His Word as promised, and you can absolutely trust it without controversy or fear. Wholly lean on this Trusted Text as the very Words of the Living God.

I've been viciously attacked by the James White Crowd in their on line Chat Room at AOMIN when asking an earnest question. And 've been blasted by David Cloud and his crew too when asking questions. So you cant decide this issue on the "niceness" of either side.

They are both vicious I have learned.
The facts need studied, not the emotions of the proponents. The KJB Defenders have a lot more factual evidence to support the Preserved KJB as the Words of God that can be f

Having lived in this area of Montana myself, I can say that the reaction of the police is on par with any crime committed there. They wouldn't even investigate shoplifters caught in our store even, and I have other similar stories of incidents of neglect on the part of justice by these "police". (we learned to call the county Sheriff rather than city police)

Throwing stuff from the windows of moving vehicles is also regular activity there. I and other pedestrians and bicyclist have been hit with flying trash from the windows of moving vehicles. Target practice I suppose. A certain mentality of "survivalist commando" exists there, and I wonder if the "police" are afraid to confront these commando's.

Reading other reports on this incident, I found that this bomb was one of two, the first was thrown at shopping center. It may or may not be true the attack was Pro-Life centered. Making the reprehensible "police" reaction even more disgusting.

I had a recent neighbor who could recount with great clarity, detail, and acute awareness... the flowing white cloths and the Rhine Stone studded blue belt that Elvis Presley was wearing when he held him as a baby on stage at a concert. He breaks into an Elvis song every time he told me the story, several times a day.

He suffers from brain damage he incurred as a child of 8, but the details of the stories are very real to him. Who knows if it really did happen or not, he is a cousin of the late Rickey Nelson... oh the stories.

However, in the case of the story of this boy, and other NDE stories similar. I can't help but be cautious of both extremes. The religious Pharisees are deadly wrong when they accused Jesus of the spirit of demons.

Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

It is worth your time to read the whole chapter of this entire account, and get the whole story and better idea of the context.

I have a hard time discounting every experience just because it is an experience, but at the same time, if Christ isn't The Focus, The Center, The Reason,

...When asked what matters most, teenagers prioritize education, career development, friendships, and travel. Faith is significant to them, but it takes a back seat to life accomplishments...

I was listening to an old respecet preacher here on SA in a message he gave in 2002. He was advocating just this explaining... "you don't want to work at Target your whole life do you? You need to go to College!" and he was speaking to girls and even suggesting secular college. He said to the parents something like "God will protect them, you can't protect them forever yourselves". --Albert Martin--

We quit listening to him from this point, and this servey confirms what we already knew from the Bible. Don't chase idols.

Really really good! It helped me understand some things about Christ and the nature of God that I had struggled with for some time.

Hey, I just read this "prophesy" report about a false prophet and thought about this article here on sermonaudio. Here is a quote from what I just read in that report.

"We will build the most brilliant, golden civilization ever seen -- and built by men and women!"

"Maitreya says everyone is gods in human form...Men are men who don't know they're gods...He will show them how to become gods..."

"You only get peace when you have trust, and you only have trust when you have justice..."

That last comment about a 'just peace' echoes President Obama's comments during his Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech where he talked about a 'just war' and a 'just peace', doesn't it?
