Hey Parker, if Newt Gingrich gets elected will his staff hire someone to keep him occupied? He's also an adulterer. What's your opinion of Strom Thurmond, who had an affair & a child out of wedlock? Or is your critisism only reserved for the Clinton's?

We all know that Jesus was talking about stoning the woman. I believe he was saying that you who are perfect have the right to condem this woman. In other words do not pass judgement. Which is what YOU should be doing, if you're a real Christian & wish to follow the Lord's example.

Hillary is taking a nod from the current prez, who became 'born again' when his advisors decided it was a good political move, e.g. he would garner votes from right wing conservatives if he expressed his claim to be 'born again'. George Bush is no more 'born again' than Hillary is. Bush has been caught in more lies than you can shake a stick at. Since when is lying to achieve a political goal Christian like?

Where in the Book of Revelations is the CC called a whore? And what proof can you produce that the Pope is associated with the mafia? I said proof, not innuendo & slander. The antichrist? The previous Pope was called the antichrist also. So, which is it? No, the real hypocricy comes from people that hide behind & quote from the Bible as a means to justify prejudice, lies, & outright character assasination & bigorty. Spare me your Bible quotes unless you want to use them as a means to promote the word of God, instead lies & hatefulness. And I do have a sense of humor. But I choose not to use it as a means to promote hatefullnes & bigotry.

Santa Pope? Apparently, it is ok to hurl insults at your fellow man? Whatever happened to following the Commandment that says to love thy neighbor as thyself? Or is it only to be obeyed when referring to non Catholics, Muslims, etc? The Pope wore a bullett proof vest for the same reason Pres. Bush has the secret service protecting him. I have a feeling that there would be folks that would secretly get some satisfaction if the Pope were to come to physical harm. Sad, very sad coming from folks that call themselves Christians.

I thought the Lord said not to bear false witness against thy neighbor. The constant insults, misinformation, & downright nastiness aimed at the Pope, The RCC, etc., makes me wonder whether some folks that post here actually know what the Commandments mean, or what the Lord meant when He said 'judge not lest ye be judged', & 'let those without sin cast the first stone'.

The Psalmist in Psalms 73:24 says to God, “Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” No doubt, he was quite certain that God will receive him into glory no matter what.

Paul also in 2 Timothy 4:18 expresses this same confidence by proclaiming that “the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Paul was not worried that God might not preserve him. He assumes God will preserve him irrespective of any sin he might commit.

Paul also expresses assurance that other believers are secure in their salvation. He says in Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Paul was quite confident that God will continue to perform Eternal Security in the lives of other believers no matter what. His assumption can remind believers that such an eternal assurance is possible to achieve.

In regards to Eternal Security, God has promised to confirm believers to the end (1 Corinthians 1:8), to preserve believers (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24), and to give believers everlasting life (1 John 2:25). These promises God is faithful to keep (Titus 1:2).

In fact, God is already engaged in accomplishing Eternal Security. Harold Barker in his book Secure Forever reveals the nature of Eternal Security’s paradigm in Scripture. Summarizing Romans 8:29-30 he writes, “Everyone foreknown is predestined. Everyone predestined is called. Everyone called is justified. Everyone justified is glorified.” God, therefore, is accomplishing Eternal Security by putting believers through His sanctification process.

God does His part to provide Eternal Security and urges Christians to their part to know it. In 2 Peter 1:9-10 God warns the Christian that he may forget “that he was purged from his old sins” but admonishes him “to make your calling and election sure:”

The Christian can know Eternal Security by nourishing himself with God’s Word. One finds that the Godly characters of Bible did that. They exhibited an attitude of eternal assurance in their salvation that would otherwise be impossible if they did not know Eternal Security.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Wayne, are you willing to forgive Catholic priests that have strayed, or is your forgiveness only reserved for Evangelicals?

I too am concerned with my relationship with the unsaved. I want an open and honest relationship so that I can present the Lord Jesus Christ to them. He alone is the sacrifice for sin and the only way to God. John 14:6. His is the Name whereby we must be saved Acts 4:12. All need to be born again John 3:3 The relationship I most desire and care about building is my relationship with our great God through His magnificent Son my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Peace comes with a personal faith in Christ. All men, Muslim, Jew, or Gentile need salvation through Jesus Christ. Our safety does not depent on how close a relationship we have with the muslims or Jews, or anyone, but on how close we are to Christ.
