In response to Susan Miller's comment..............

The whole state of the world hinges on the oil in the mideast.

Whoever has control of the oil, controls everything and God knows that.

If there is a crisis in oil reserves, it will have a devestating impact of the economies of the world, seeing that so many world economies are dependent of this oil, particularly China.

I wonder how many genuine converts there really are in all this religious frenzy of the "Mega Church"

Not very many I am sure.......for "though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant shall be saved"...........Romans 9:27, and 11:5

Discrimination is no doubt the worse of all and probally the most offensive and yet it seems it's unavoidable, but that's why it's wise to invest in your own business.........I'd like to..........because then you won't have to kiss anyone's rear end!

Abigail is your CLASSIC charasmatic pentacostle.............they somehow think that one is not saved if they do not speak in tongues and they somehow think that they must seek for the filling of the Holy Ghost.........all the while being ignorant of the fact that ONCE they've been saved, they NOW have been sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise, and they ALREADY have ALL things pertaining to life and godliness in Christ.........
(II Peter 1:3)

Michael.........

I appreciate your last comment 9/25/07 @ 7:39 pm.
And I fully concur with your sentiments, the only problem is.......we will probally never see that happen (in Christian media) because of all the compromise that we have seen in ECT. All it takes is several very influencial leaders to make a decision and most the "sheep" follow unfortunately. I have tried to no avail to talk about this subject at different blog sites and Christian discussion forums and 95% percent of the time I hit a brick wall and end up leaving.

Apparently this compromise with the catholic church that clearly teaches a false gospel is not a priority. Confronting the Emergent Church seems more a priority now.

As far as I know, the Apostle Paul made preaching another gospel as #1 priority on par with preaching the true gospel as commanded by our Lord Jesus.

God bless you Michael for your unwavering stand AGAINST catholicism! God is using you to help other catholics see the Truth because you know first hand what it means to be in bondage to lies!

The greenback went down in value after the Fed cut rates.........which was an obvious concern due to inflation...........but that is why you should invest in gold. But if you can't invest in gold (because you don't have any money, like me), FIRST make sure you invest in the Lord Jesus Christ.........He's your greatest hedge against economic collapse! Make sure he is the foundation of your "portfolio".

Regardless though, this economy is slowly going down the toilet anyway.........it's just a matter of time before we see the full impact.

That's my personalized economist outlook.

Oh, I forgot to add that we need to give Stephen brownie points for his fantastic work that goes un-noticed.

So sorry men, that sometimes your work goes unappreciated! We women are used to that........so used to it that we are immune to it!

Cheer up Stephen, God does not forget your work for Him, after all it is Him you are working for right? So truly you should not be looking for validation from people anyway.........for it is the Lord God you serve.

Just giving you a dose of what I experience on a regular basis as being a woman, particularly an attractive blonde that most people place a stigma on (Christian and non-Christian).........as being dumb and stupid and not be taken seriously.

In conclusion to this thread...........making computer difficulties tantamount to the incredible anguish and lamentation of Job is like saying to Job....."So sorry, buddy, I do know what it feels like to stub your toe, BUT I just want you to know.....I will be praying for you"!!!

That's the perspective I'm talking about, and if you don't agree, I will be praying for you!!

This is the last comment I am going to make regarding the use of that scripture in Job when dealing with computers.

First of all, I am in no way negating Steven's computer problems or am I being insensitive to his problems.......I am just trying to bring to light the full weight and profound impact that that scripture has.

The whole book of Job has such profound impact and incredible weight that to use it when dealing with minor difficulties means you have not been through such severe pressure and suffering that your life was radically transformed by an encounter with the Living God..........there is a depth to the book of Job, that to use it in a cavalier fashion is to miss the most valuable lesson in which Job proclaimed........"My ears have heard of You, but now my eyes see you"......Job made radically leaps in his faith and was so transformed spiritually that his life was totally changed.

Even after Job poured out a litany of platitudes and his "knowledge" of God, God humbled him even more by His proclamation....."Who is this that darkens my counsel with words that have not knowledge....words that are empty and vain" to which Job could only respond in repentance in "dust and ashes". As a result of all this, Job was moved to a more perfect, complete faith which ulti

Stephen...........you are a man, so think rationally.........there is a difference between a challenge and a tradegy.........that is the perspective I am talking about. Perhaps the Psalms would be a better place to look for consolation in difficulties such as computer problems that are really just an inconvenience. Certainly God has so many other ways to feed people spirtually.......primarily His Word. But I think too many people just flippantly throw out scripture without truly understanding what it means spiritually.

The book of Job is about a man who underwent such severe pressure and intense suffering that he didn't want to live anymore and even in all his misery and destitution, God delayed answering Job to teach him about perspective.........an Eternal perspective. In light of this incredible God, our tiny problems pale in comparison to His glory.

The book of Job places GREAT VALUE is being absolutely destitute and poor (unlike this world), for it is then that you truly begin to grow spirtually because you NEED God more than anything else; for no one else can give you the solutions to your problems that you desperately seek!

I think a little perspective is needed here.........

The scripture quote from Job......."Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him"..............makes it sound as though you have just lost your 3 children and your wife and your house in a house fire and you were just fired from a job that you had for 30 years just before your house fire. Also, you were just threatened by your enemy and have been repeatedly slandered and harrassed and dragged though court.

Ok, so I am just giving you a little perspective on these frankly miserable computers that steal our time from what is really important and really are an addiction anyway.

The scipture in Job, I believe is not appropriate here. I mean if computers are that important to you, then YES, you really do need serious perspective in your life!!!!

Cheryl has so many monikers on this forum that she has conversations with herself and validates her own comments with her other moniker.

Cheryl........

You are too contentious and the Bible says to avoid contentious people because it only leads to quarrels and bitterness.

If it's so important for YOU to have the last word....all power to you........as for me, I am confident in my Lord and certainly I do not need, nor do I want your approval. My Savior's approval is all I need.

This is obviously your comment board because you dominate it more than anyone else.......you may have it because you have this incredible need to be FIRST!

In the meantime I will continue to occasionally leave comments when I am led. Remember, I do not answer to you, nor do I wish to answer a fool in her folly!

In the old mosaic covenant, the curtain that was set up in the tabernacle was symbolic of the mercy set and by God's high standard, ONLY the high priest which He ordained was allowed to enter this room to offer a sacrifice for not only his sins, but the sins of the people.

But Jesus Christ, under the New Covenant, torn down that curtain with His BLOOD thereby allowing us to enter the mercy seat of God which is no longer symbolic, for Jesus IS OUR HIGH PRIEST......with His blood He has made an atonement once and for all for sin. HE is the new and better way.........His sacrifice IS PERFECT!!!! see Hebrews chapter 7-10

"I, even I, am HE that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins, put Me in remembrance; let us plead together; declare thou, that thou mayest be JUSTIFIED"......Isaiah 43:25,26

Jesus' priesthood is far better than the old priesthood (after the order of Melchizedek), because it lasts FOREVER and does NOT CHANGE!
The old Mosaic system was flawed because it couldn't make men perfect, for if it could have, God would never have replaced it with Christ Jesus His Son!

Jesus paid a GREAT price with HIS BLOOD to seal those born-again with the Holy Spirit of promise.

"without the shedding of blood, there is no remission (forgiveness) for sin".........Hebrews 9:22b

"for the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the alter to make an atonement for your souls; for it is the BLOOD that maketh an atonement for the soul".......Leviticus 17:11

The old mosaic convenant that was instituted by God was flawed and imperfect because every year the priest that were ordained by God (Aaron and his sons) came into the tabernacle to offer an unblemished sacrifice for the sins of the Israelites. Each and every year the Israelites were reminded that they could never live up to God's holiness, but God in His mercy instituted this covenant so that they would be His people set apart for Him. This old covenant acted as a temporary means until the fulfillment of Christ.

The old covenant was flawed in that it never fully set people free from sin and this is why God sent his son, the Lord Jesus Christ to become the perfect sacrifice and thus thereby fulfilling the Law. A new law not made of stone but written on our hearts of flesh by FAITH alone!

Those who do understand this need to read the entire book of Hebrews and Leviticus.

Cheryl,

I will give you the specific scripture you asked for but I know it will not make a difference because you want to turn this into a polemic merry-go-round, and frankly I have better things to do with my time.

Hebrews 10:14........"For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified" and the scripture just before that in 10:12 says......."But this man after He had offered ONE sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God"..........

The whole book of Hebrews speaks about the superiority of Christ and that His sacrifice is greater than all the priests in the old covenant making the old covenant obsolete.

The foundation of the Christians' faith IS the cross just as the Apostle Paul said......."God forbid I should glory save ONLY in the cross of Jesus Christ"

Read Romans chapter 5 also and furthermore God is not interested in a performance.......what He
wants is a relationship where you abide in Him and rest in Him so that He can then manifest the fruit of the Spirit in you or Christ-like character or in simple terms......it's called godliness (peace, joy, love, patience, self-control, humility, kindness and goodness).

Cheryl........

You have no concept of the doctrine of justification by faith alone.........the doctrine that the Apostle Paul repeatedly taught over and over in the New Testament particularly in the book of Galatians. This doctrine is not woven together by one or two verses but rather it resonates throughout the entire New Testament.

It is not me or anyone else who is wrong unless you want to challenge scripture itself.

Hebrews in the King James, which by the way, is the only bible I read, talks specifically about Christ Jesus who has perfected ONCE forever them that he is sanctifying.

You simply do not understand the doctrine of justification and santification. You have mixed them up and there is no point in discussing this because you are stubborn.

A person is first justified, then he/she is sanctified and the final outcome which is promised by our Lord is glorification.......all these doctrines are woven into the very fabric of scripture.....you are simply BLIND to these doctrines period!

All you have is a bunch of religious zeal without knowledge! Once again I pity you.
