Neil,

I apologize if I came across as rude because I did not respond to your comment but as before on this site and others that I have left comments, I did not want it to turn into a polemic merry-go-round because I simply do not have the time to interact. Blogging and interacting on the internet is indeed time consuming.

So in response to your comment on 4/17 @ 11:49 am, I will leave this:

You are correct in saying no one knows for sure the reserve estimates but I will say that the earth's crust contains only so much oil that can be extracted for a (and here's the operative word) "reasonable cost",
that even no amount of money or brain can change that fact and the reason the oil industry needs all the technology is because oil is becoming more difficult to find and extract. And yet all our technology has been unable to prevent the decline in US oil production over the past 30 years.

Money and brains cannot repeal basic geological laws. Since there is only a finite number of economic oil patches in the world, global oil production must eventually decline.

Without cheap energy, our civilization would be unable to sustain itself much above the 19th century. We no longer have an infrastructure that works without cheap oil.

The government is making a very costly mistake is giving billions of dollars in tax subsidies to farmers to produce ethanol.......an alternative energy source. That clearly is not going to fix our energy dependence and energy crisis. They need to invest in nuclear energy but the environmentalists have our hands tied behind our back. What is it going to take and how high is gas going have to go before something is done.

Now we have food crisis due to shortages around the globe due to not only demand but high gas prices for fuel to transport that food and a shortage of wheat and corn from ethanol production. Rice has nearly doubled.

I read in the Economist that Brazil was the latest country to find oil. Rio Je Janero (I think I spelled that right) was the exact place. Apparently this puts them as an oil producing country on par with Saudi Arbia and Venezuella. But Venezuella's oil is crappy compared to the light sweet crude from the Saudi fields.

We get most of our oil from the Canadian tar sands and we are the leading coal producing country in the world, but burning coal to make gasoline emits fossil fuels into the ozone causing "global warming".

Clearly we have LARGE problems!

Gas will be $5-6 a gallon soon. They are running out of oil and haven't found any large reserves and/or shoals lately. The whole peace and stability of the world rests on the oil. Even though the big oil companies are getting record profits, the cost of exploration and the risks associated with that are enormous. There is oil but oil is down so deep in the ground that to extract it, is costing billions and billions of dollars.

The History Channel aired a fantastic program called "Oil Armeggeddon" on their Mega Disasters series. Fantastic production and a very likely senerio in the near future, probally more so then a giant earthquake in California.

Nations go to war over oil..........it is the very lifeline of their economy. It is OIL that keeps the global economy affloat.........take it away and you will see a massive crisis.

OIL has already peaked.........but they won't tell you that and you'd think that America would have learned from the 1970's oil embargo......but nope we have not!

It's unfortunate that Mark M from Georgia has adopted a universalism that is much too prevalent in the church today. It's comes out of the mouths of many "leaders" in the church from Osteen to Billy Graham to Rick Warren to so many more.

According to them as long as we are morally good we're all headed to the same place.

However the Bible says quite the opposite which is antithetical to this universalism of the WCC............. "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in
Truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in Spirit and in Truth"......John 4:23,24

Sounds just like "Promise Keepers" who were largely ecumenical.

The super bowl was great though......little Eli took on Goliath and won! Just like Federer was taken down at the Aussie Open.

JFK planned to exterminate the Fed Reserve system and ultimately eliminate the national debt.......by presidential order, executive order 11 and also 110, the US Treasury began printing over $4 billion worth of US notes to replace Fed Reserve notes. When a sufficient supply of these entered circulation, the Fed notes and Fed Reserve system could be declared obsolete. This would end the control of the international bankers over the US government and the American people.

Some of these bills are still in circulation.....you will know them by denominations of $1, $2, and $5 and a red seal on the black and white side. It's a seal on the right side and it's typically green on your normal Fed Reserve note. But on the US note, it says "United States Note" and Douglas Dillion's signature appears as Secretary of Treasury.

There were $4 billion of these put into circulation but it's interesting that just a few months after this plan was put into action, JFK was assassinated.

Conspiracy theory? Could be, but too much of a coincidence if you ask me!

We all live with this charade that we call the Fed Reserve........it is neither Federal nor a reserve and it is not an agency of the United States government(which would shock many). It is not federal because it is not owned by the U.S. It is privately owned and has stockholders. It also pays its own postage like any other corporation and its employees are not in the civil service. It's physical property is held in private deeds and is subject to taxation which government property is not.

It is an engine that has created private wealth that is unimaginable, even to the most financially sophisticated. It has enabled an imperial elite to manipulate our economy for its own agenda and has enlisted the government as its enforcer.

This will eventually lead to the subjugation of the great democratic experiment to a centralized world government. The concerns of the leadership of the Fed and its secretive international benefactors appear to go far beyond currency and interest rates.

Pearls to Pigs........pigs in Palestine were wild and vicious, as well as "unclean". Most see the metaphor as a reminder that many will reject the Gospel and the disciple's way of life with contempt and scorn........."reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee"....... (Prov. 9:8)........the principle of measure for measure is generally, but not universally, true.

The whole book of Hebrews pretty much addresses this whole issue of salvation...........how Christ's sacrifice is far superior than any ritual or mass or the Mosaic Law and old Levitical system.

The writter of Hebrews address his Jewish Christian friends that they need not resort back to their old traditions and rituals for Christ has opened a new and better way making the old Levitical system of priests making sacrifices for sin as an atonement obsolete.

But as you said Preacher Jon, the natural man does not and cannot understand the Truth of God because the Truth of God can only be discerned spiritually through the Holy Spirit which lost people do not possess ( I Corinthians 2:10-16).

Hebrews 10:26-31 addresses Jewish Christians who in their apostasy, deliberatly choose to return to the old system of sacrifices and so "trample underfoot the Son of God". For such sin there can only be certain judgement.

Some Catholics certainly may be "Christian" in terms of morality and moral law (loving your neighbor), but they are not Christian in terms of doctrine!
And we know that morality and moral law does not save anyone; only TRUTH does!

Preacher Jon,

I don't make a comment to share the gospel with GG, he already has been told a hundred thousand times, I respond only to call him DECEITFUL, and full of "dead men's bones".

The deceitfulness of GG is constantly allowed on this site to make very disturbing comments regarding true Christians meanwhile those who truly stand up and blast GG with the truth of his DECEIT.......are at best tolerated and at worst called devisive.

Kenny,

Of course GG is a jesuit priest infiltrating a Christian website in hot pursuit of seeking the "lost brethern"..........the only problem is, he will find himself in the lost caverns of Hell separated from a loving God burning in the lake of fire for all Eternity because he REFUSED to submit to the gospel which is the Righteousness of Christ apart from the law!

To GG........"they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, who changed the TRUTH of God into a LIE, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator"..........Romans 1:21b, 22 and 25.

Ron Paul seems like a knowledgeable and intelligent man and particularly one who seems to understand the crisis in Washington. He seems like he is aware of the underlining simmering that is about to expode.

He understands that the almighty dollar is quickly and rapidly loosing its power and that this economy which has global consequences, is quickly going down the toilet.

This is why a few elite powerful men are trying to merge Canada and Mexico with the U.S......for that is the only way to save this country.....they think anyway. I mean after all, that is what large corporations due in the business world to save a company......they merge to keep from going under.

I may just very well vote for Ron Paul because other than him, everyone else who is running just seems like another politician!
