WOW again!!!

I had to re-read my posts to see if I said anything about Christians being bartenders, strippers, drinking beer, etc... and nope; they are not in my posts. Someone else added those to the discussion. I guess setting up and knocking down straw men is the best way some can get their point across.

Behold, Christ has seasoned salty disciples all over the world and I'm glad He doesn't need our permission where He wants to use us. I didn't see little Zach resigning from being a publican (i.e. tax collector) when he repented. Why? Because tax collecting is a benign profession; only the extortioners gave it a bad name.

And what can be more benign than playing sports? Sports! When homosexuals come out of the closet in sports does that mean Christians should quit? Makes them quitters, not conquerors. Maybe some of us are/were not sports-inclined, maybe a Charlie Brown in baseball.

Here's my straw man. I know some preachers and teachers that are steeped in error. Heretics. There are even homosexuals standing in some pulpits. Maybe Christian preachers should get out of the church business all together before their reputation get sullied.

WOW!!!

I wonder how our beloved Apostle Paul got all those wonderful sports metaphors like connecting with a punch instead of beating the air, or running and competing in the (Olympic) games to win, or (gasp) wrestling? And to use them to teach us spiritual lessons.

John 17:15-19 KJV  I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.  (16)  They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  (17)  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.  (18)  As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.  (19)  And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

There would have to be so much compromise and turning a blind eye to so much, that the so called Christian would either have to be faking it or a huge compromiser.
Or a "vessel of honor" prepared for such a work. You're not in trouble for thinking that a Christian could compromise in today's climate of professional sports; no doubt most probably do. But for those truly called and equipped it would be a great opportunity for evangelizing, testimony, and exemplifying true Christian conduct to others.

I've never played professionally but in my days in the USAF I've played on basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and racquetball teams. I made it a habit to give God the glory for every point, every win, every loss, and the ability to play. It was good to compete against fellow believers so we could both represent Christ in competitions.

I look at it this way. The ability to play sports can be one of the many "talents" that the Lord has given to his servant to "occupy" until He returns. And upon His return He will be looking for a good return with interest and not for a buried talent. Whatever is done in word or deed let's do all to the glory of God.

Jim, how much of this interview did liberal ABC News leave on the cutting floor? If you posted your excerpt to show her disillusionment with the GOP then I suggest you see how much Ms. Nelson excoriates the Donkeys.

ESPN is leading the LGBTI media campaign and women's basketball behind Title 9 has become the legal hammer. Lesbian predators are running rampant in the locker rooms of both women's high school and college hoops. Every female high school and college basketball player in our church has quit teams because they were harassed by lesbian team members with no push back from coaches nor school administrators.

The WNBA is the lesbian showcase for gay marriage. I remember the media trying to hide the plague of domestic violence between lesbian couples in the WNBA. Violence among all expressions of homosexuality and gender confusion is greatly under reported.

I predict that evil will again overplay its hand and the masses will see that this evil emperor has no clothes; what is now championed will be rightly mocked and shamed back into the shadows.

But until that happens our sons and daughters who wish to participate in sports must be given a principled alternative to the current scholastic and professional chaos and bullying. Hopefully Trump's education initiatives can put enough school-choice funds in the hands of parents where charter and alternative schools can have their own sports programs. And hopefully, Trump will overturn or judicially tweak Title 9.

These deluded academics have a real problem with Dr. MLK (ironically, add an "i" and you would get MiLK). Dr. King's idea of civil rights are much different than today's so-called "social justice" warriors. His was a Gospel of peace while these believe in a message of division, injustice, anarchy, and intimidation. They are sons of Belial rather than sons of Peace.

Color vs Content of Character: Color like beauty is only skin-deep; not much content there. And yes, one may have a shallow character but, unlike skin color, character can be deepened.

If only we (saints) would boldly proclaim the Gospel which not only brings true racial and gender reconciliation (Galatians 3:28 KJV  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus). And if they be in Christ then He and He alone can deepen the content of their character (Romans 5:3-4 KJV  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;  (4)  And patience, experience; and experience, hope). "Experience" can be translated "proven character."

Bottom line: White, black, brown, yellow, and red (and whatever mixtures there may be) are all fearfully and wonderful made to bring glory to our Creator.

I'm Black... and I have a problem when a White person walks into the church and they are the only White person there... here in America. I would not have that problem if the church was in Nigeria, Kenya, or other Black nations. But here in America where our nearest neighbor could be of any race, the schools are teeming with children of many cultures, and the workplace is cosmopolitan Monday thru Friday... I have a big problem with segregated churches on Sundays. I can not fathom God being pleased with that. And what's gets me is so little effort is given from pastors to make that the top priority next to preaching the Word. Actually unity and love of the brethren should be a big part of the Word preached and taught. Paul hammered that nondiscriminatory unity theme time and time again. And humble John was so bold that he said:

1 John 4:20-21 KJV  If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?  (21)  And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I think he also calls them a murderer too (1Jn 3:15).

Bottom line: with all that is going on today we need to step up to the plate and show unity. Show we are His disciples INDEED

Matthew 15:12 KJV  Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

Hmmm, I wonder what leader they are talking to and what He said to offend them. I bet that wasn't the last time they were offended by something He said.

Another quote: Mark 8:38 KJV  Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

Shame now equals shame later. To not speak about racism in all of its forms is the real shame. I think its a shame that the Southern (Spiritually) Poverty Law Center has called those saints who speak boldly about the sins of the nation to be labeled purveyors of "Hate Speech." We are in danger of being thrown in jail like Jeremiah was for standing up against this evil and perverse generation.

But i do wish there was a place to talk with someone, someone who cares when life turns to hell, i use the email function of this site to reach various pastors, but i'm treated as a fan of their show, not as a someone they can minister to
This is a good site, but I do get your point. But you must understand that the first obligation of these pastors are to their own sheep; so their time and resources are limited in principally ministering to their own flock. The majority of my emails and comments are not responded to also.

Is it that you do not have ready access to a pastor or spiritual mentor who you may speak to in your location that you feel this way?

Again, this is a very good site. I mean, over a million and a quarter sermons and teachings from around the world. Some very good and some, well I would call, bordering on heresy; but it is always a good thing to see the contrast between Truth and counterfeit. I appreciate and pray for the site moderators who must call "balls and strikes" on things that are posted. And the posters are sincerely good people; very few are out right mockers.

But the pastors, teachers, and posters is not the God of all comfort, nor Jesus, nor the Comforter;so please forgive them.

Aren't elections and politics supposed to go together. God elected Moses to oppose Pharaoh. Elijah was elected to oppose Ahab and Jezebel (the Clintons of his day). Jeremiah was elected to oppose both the governmental and religious establishments of his day and was thrown in political prison. Can anyone honestly say that Daniel was not involved in politics? WE WERE EVEN ELECTED!

If we are to be "diligent in (our) business" to be salt in this world then we "shall stand before kings" (Prov 22:29). Didn't Jesus want us to give our testimony to rulers and kings also. Paul was chosen to bear Jesus' Name to kings (Acts 9:15) and was personally told by Jesus that he would do the same in Rome (Acts 23:11) which in the process of time meant giving testimony of our Lord not only to Kings Festus and Agrippa, bit eventually Caesar Nero. I understand that both Paul, John the Baptist (witnessing to Herod) and Jesus Himself were under arrest when they stood before these despots but how much more should we take the opportunity to give witness if a ruler should give us an open invitation for wisdom or guidance?

And, of course, our mandate in the Great Commission is to "preach the Gospel to every creature." Who can doubt that politicians are critters too?

Jim, what party do you think is guilty of having "a sin unto death," as stated by Apostle John below, in it's very platform?

1 John 5:16-17 KJV  If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.  (17)  All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

The question is: Does this pass the "smell" test? I say, "Yes." It always stinks when you flush. On the other hand it provides abundant political fodder for the left and haters.

But when you step back and look at the big picture you will see that Andrew McCabe, an unambiguous Democratic hack, is the now the current FBI Director. Remember that the timing of his appointment to Deputy Director by Comey came into question because at the time McCabe's wife was running for Virginia State Senate and received money from a Hillary Clinton PAC; and this while Comey was investigating Clinton.

Apparently when General Blanco, the new Acting Assistant Attorney General of the DOJ's Criminal Division, did his review of the FBI he discovered some disturbing facts involving Comey. It was at his suggestion that both Sessions and his Deputy Director requested that Trump immediately fire Comey. I suspect that Blanco had a chance to see the details of both FBI cases against Trump and Clinton and probably discovered that Comey indeed made the FBI political. Trumps cryptic remarks in his letter thanking Comey for NOT finding evidence of collusion with Russia (3 times) was probably in response to what Blanco discovered in his review.

Someone made fun of Americans for not knowing the difference between American Health Care Act and OBama Care. I Don't know either. Can someone explain it?
The AHCA is the bill the Republicans drafted and passed in the House yesterday. It replaces what is called Obamacare, which is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Affordable Care Act or ACA) for short that was passed by the Democrats in both houses of Congress and signed into law by Obama in 2010.

Reading that article is a stomach tuner. Hillary, the abortion "Champion of the Century!" I can't help but think of Jack in the movie Titanic standing on the bow proclaiming "I'm the king of the world" and then the last we see of him is sinking down to the abyss. That's all the destination of both Hillary, Obama, and anyone else he believes that the premeditate murder of the unborn is moral.
