Lurker,
You have said you are zealous for Scripture. But if that is so, then why do you get so upset when I quote it?

So now I'm several people in one, I see. Really? That's an unfounded accusation against a brother in Christ, namely me. Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

Lurker,
He judged those people in the past, droping fire on their heads! Fire didn't consume Sodom on the last day! What's the deal there? He judges people by His law right now, today. Otherwise, sin cannot be defigned as sin, because His law defigns sin!

If the phrase "keep the law" only referred to circumcision, as you alleged,

B McCausland never alleged that every time Paul used the phrase "keep the law" only reffered to circumcision. To say he did is a lie. He said that in the context of that particular reference from Acts you sited, Paul was reffering to circumcision and the ceremonial law.

Jews in the law will be judged by the law, Gentiles without law will perish without law. Examples: Sodom & Gomorrah, Egypt, the progeny of Cain destroyed in the flood, Babylon.

None of the above examples were under the old covenant with God. Yet why did God judge those places? Because they broke God's law! Believe it or not, but you just gave me another good reason why the OT law is applicable to all mankind!

1Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers

Lurker, for the record I do support Cruz, but I am not arguing this just to defend him, and I have not inserted his name into this discusion here, you did. I am arguing this because I care about what Scripture has to say about things, not just men like you. That's the reason for the moniker.

"shall be judged by the law;" and condemned by it, as they were in this world, and will be hereafter: their having this law will be no bar against their condemnation, but rather an aggravation of it; their hearing of it will be no plea in their favour; nor their doing of it neither, unless they could have done it to perfection; for perfect obedience it requires, as a justifying righteousness, otherwise it curses, condemns, and adjudges to death.

"shall also perish without law": not that their condemnation and perdition will be illegal, or not in due course of law; but it will not proceed upon, or according to the law of Moses, they never had; and much less for not believing in Christ, of whom they never heard; but their perdition will be for their sins committed without the law of Moses, against the law of nature: their not having the written law of Moses will be no plea in their favour, or be a reason why they should not be condemned; their persons will not be regarded as with or without the law, but their sins committed by them, to which facts their consciences will bear witness:

Gill's Commentary:
"For as many as have sinned without law,".... This is an instance of the strict justice of God, and proves him to be no respecter of persons; for the Gentiles, who were "without law", the written law of Moses, not without the law of nature in their breasts, nor without some civil laws and statutes of their own; inasmuch as they "sinned" against the God of nature, and the law and light of nature, they...

Lurker,
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

It's very clear by reading Romans 2:12 in context with commentaries, that those who don't keep the law will not be able to fall back on the law on judgement day. In other words, on judgement, one that has rejected the law cannot say "but I followed the law!", and they will be condemned for not hearing the Gospel, and not following God's law. Those who have kept His law will be judged by their breaking of the law as well, but Jesus covers our sin, while those who have rejected Christ and His law have absolutely no justigication. Read Gill's Commentary on this verse. It makes it very clear (and explains it in perhaps a simpler way) what the verse is talking about. I will post that shortly.

Lurker,
Clearly you are trying to avoid the error in your argument. Paul said the law still aplied after Christ's death, and nothings happened since to change that!

Lurker wrote:
And another thing....... its a pity you refuse to see every appeal for the defense of theonomy must be dredged up from scripture given specifically to a people who were in covenant with God. That......... is scripture twisting.

The Old Covenant, aye? Then was Paul under the Old Covenant, even though he defended the law after Christ's death, and the New Covenant began? Romans 12:13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

I see all of the above in Ted Cruz.

Just wondering,
I said they OFTEN do evil, not ALWAYS do evil. And you already sound like a "Trump support", so don't worry so much about that!

Just wondering wrote:
It appears that the compromise of which you speak is one of supporting Trump's casino's, marital infidelity, clubs, etc. Thing is, as UPS has stated, that is not the positions on which he is running. So a vote for Trump, if he is the nominee, is not a support of his lifestyle or business practices.

Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

In other words, if you have evil in your heart, and you are not reddemed by Christ, your actions will often be evil.

Thank you B. McCausland. I just tried to post what Scripture had to say about the subject, that's all. I hope people on here on both sides of this have considered what the whole counsel of God has to say about this issue. Some may see contradictions in Scripture, but I believe (and would hope others on here believe) that Scripture is absolutely 100% perfect and bears no contradictions. We can trust what our all gracious, all powerful God said yesterday, today, and tommorow as always consistent and always true. What an awesome God we serve!
