1Ti 1:9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayersLurker, for the record I do support Cruz, but I am not arguing this just to defend him, and I have not inserted his name into this discusion here, you did. I am arguing this because I care about what Scripture has to say about things, not just men like you. That's the reason for the moniker. |

Lurker, Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; It's very clear by reading Romans 2:12 in context with commentaries, that those who don't keep the law will not be able to fall back on the law on judgement day. In other words, on judgement, one that has rejected the law cannot say "but I followed the law!", and they will be condemned for not hearing the Gospel, and not following God's law. Those who have kept His law will be judged by their breaking of the law as well, but Jesus covers our sin, while those who have rejected Christ and His law have absolutely no justigication. Read Gill's Commentary on this verse. It makes it very clear (and explains it in perhaps a simpler way) what the verse is talking about. I will post that shortly. |

Just wondering, I said they OFTEN do evil, not ALWAYS do evil. And you already sound like a "Trump support", so don't worry so much about that! |

Just wondering wrote: It appears that the compromise of which you speak is one of supporting Trump's casino's, marital infidelity, clubs, etc. Thing is, as UPS has stated, that is not the positions on which he is running. So a vote for Trump, if he is the nominee, is not a support of his lifestyle or business practices.Mat 12:35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. In other words, if you have evil in your heart, and you are not reddemed by Christ, your actions will often be evil. |

Thank you B. McCausland. I just tried to post what Scripture had to say about the subject, that's all. I hope people on here on both sides of this have considered what the whole counsel of God has to say about this issue. Some may see contradictions in Scripture, but I believe (and would hope others on here believe) that Scripture is absolutely 100% perfect and bears no contradictions. We can trust what our all gracious, all powerful God said yesterday, today, and tommorow as always consistent and always true. What an awesome God we serve! |
