GG, to attack a false teaching is one thing, and the bible calls for us to defend the faith, but to insult Jim's intelligence is quite another. Your childish behavior puts to shame your character, and the deceptive false religion you follow. What comes out of the mouth reveals what is in the heart, and if the heart is unchanged, hateful speech certainly would prove such. May God humble you, and grant you eternal life.

GG, If being a rcc follower means to put down the intelligence of others, as you did with Jim Lincoln, then I must ask, what kind of christianity is that? Does this make you feel superior to those who reject the apostasy of the rcc? It is impossible to know Christ without humility, sarcasm is not a characteristic of a humble follower of Jesus Christ.

Mike, your post "we shouldn't humanly limit God to, or by, a version, should we?" is well put and makes the most sense of all. Whatever version is preferred by the individual, I assure those who doubt, God can and will transform those who truly belong to Him. It would seem some are quick to pass judgment and doubt based on a preference, not realizing we, in our human state, cannot see what truly lies in the heart of those who may disagree with a view one holds fast to. Please, all should bear this in mind, "Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks evil against the law and judges the law. There is only one lawgiver and judge, He who is able to save and to destroy." James 4:11,12- from the ESV

Mic- thank you for sharing, may others read your post and request prayer at every church, and offer up personal prayer as well. This kind of devastation should alarm all born again believers, prompting us to hit our knees. May the Lord work and move in this area, pouring out His mercy and grace, saving lost souls, and meeting the physical needs of these people as well.

We all need to pray for these people, this is devastating. God is angry with this Christ rejecting world; earthquakes, cyclones, tornadoes, drought, and famine are proof of His wrath against a rebellious world. We need to be praying for salvation for people everywhere, and living a life worthy of the calling we have received. Let's not take news of this magnitude lightly, the loss of life here is heartbreaking. Let's all include these people in our prayers this very day.

John, If you belonged to Christ, you would leave the RCC, this church does not stand on God's word alone, it places church doctrine above the authoritative word of God, and demands salvation by works. A true believer recognizes the harm in following false teaching. Discernment is only given to those who have repented and received Christ, those who do so are changed from the inside out. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the ONLY baptism that is truly essential in the new birth. The heart must be broken over it's sinful condition, then and only then will God take this broken, contrite heart and 'heal' it. You must cling to Christ, and His word, not church tradition. That is exactly where the Saducees and Pharisees went wrong, they too could not see the forest for the trees.

If this mortal man wanted to truly heal the wounds, he would have handled the homosexual priests according to scripture; in a true bible believing, bible teaching, bible as the only authority church, these types would have been told to repent, if they did not repent, then they would have been removed from the church immediately. This man has no power to heal anything, he is still lost in sin. He compares to the religious leaders of Jesus' day, wearing their long-flowing robes, loving the 'authority' they thought they possessed, looking all prim and proper on the outside, but inside, the filth and stain of sin remains. This denomination just does not get it, a changed heart is vital to the new birth and eternal life. Only God can truly change a heart, as He sanctifies through His word those who truly belong to Christ. No showmanship here, just a humble heart seeking the Lord.

Preacher, I must agree with you, it would seem the falling away is in full swing. The deception is overwhelming in today's church, but not surprising. It is definitely a good idea to pray that we may be counted worthy to escape all that is about to happen. Even so, come Lord Jesus.

KJV lover, if you truly possessed the power of God, you would not be a practicing idolater. To insist this translation is the only one and is all powerful is nothing more than your opinion. I know what the Lord has done in my heart, and He is using His word to transform my life. You are entitled to your opinion, but when you insist your opinion is the only right one, then you are in grave danger. Mark 12:24 -"Is this not the reason you are wrong, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God?" ESV "Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the scriptures nor the power of God?" NKJV "Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the scriptures or the power of God?" NASB
The bottom line is this, no one who is lost in sin will understand God's word, only He can open up our hearts and minds to His truth. Mark 12:24 is not a reference to born again believers anyway, it was directed at the Sadducees and their hypocritical belief. I pray you are not insinuating those who don't feel the way you do are lost in sin, if so, you are going where you need not go.

Max, I wholeheartedly agree with your post. We MUST stand firm in the faith, not wavering or compromising in any way. "But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him" Heb. 10:38 These are perilous times, with deception and apostasy ever growing. Many have already fallen away from true, saving faith, their superficial belief is not enough to enable them to endure the wave of deception. May God strengthen and keep His remnant, may we boldly profess His truth, even, if need be, to the death.

Minnow, what a wonderful quote from Spurgeon, thank you. This is just another form of idolatry, displaying a dead mortal man and people flocking in droves to see this spectacle. How very sad for all who insist on believing in sacred tradition, idol worship, and apostacy, all of which are an abomination to the Lord. "The Lord your God is a jealous God" and will not tolerate this 'harlot' of a church forever...Come quickly Lord Jesus.

I study from the NKJV, along with the KJV, and the ESV. If someone chooses to use the KJV only, so be it. God will not condemn on the basis of which translation we use. He has the power to save to the utmost; it seems as if we are debating over something that shouldn't consume or divide Christians. My pastor uses the NASB, and I do not doubt his salvation because of it. Perhaps we are not being good stewards of our time, wasting precious hours biting and devouring one another over something as simple as a translation. Again, God will save those who repent and believe in the gospel, and He will teach each one according to His word, whether it be KJV, NKJV, or whatever is preferred. Let's not limit the power and might of our Heavenly Father by insisting on any one certain translation, let's get about the business which we were called, to live holy lives, standing firm in the faith, united in LOVE, being of ONE MIND, and proclaiming the gospel to a lost and dying world. This is what should be of the utmost importance!

this AVA gentleman is in need of prayer, let's all remember to lift him to the Lord. God is not limited to a certain translation and is able to save to the uttermost anyone who truly repents and receives Christ. He uses His word to sanctify, whether it be KJV, NKJV, ESV, NASB, AMPLIFIED, GENEVA, or whatever bible one may use. Our Sovereign God is able to change hearts and minds, let us praise Him for His power and His might!

Micheal, your comment...'weep and pray for Catholic people and those deceived into thinking they are good Christian people when they so desperately need to be saved'...there is so much truth in what you say. Sometimes I think we forget the battle is spiritual, NOT against flesh and blood; we tend to 'cross over the line' with words that may be a bit harsh. If we do not pray for these lost souls, who will? God will hold us accountable if we don't. To debate with them and not pray for them is pointless and produces uneventful results. Thank you for this much needed truth.

WSG- Read Romans 1:18-32. Especially verse 28, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God GAVE THEM OVER {God removes His restraint and their sin to run its inevitable coarse, because of sexual immorality, which begins in the heart and moves to the shame of the body, 2 Cor. 2:21, Gal. 5:19-23, Eph. 5:3, 1 Thess. 4:7} to a debased {this translates a greek word that means "not passing the test", used to describe useless, worthless metals, discarded because they contain too much impurity. God has tested man's minds and found them worthless and useless} mind, to do those things which are not fitting,- verse 29- being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality {including adultery and incest}, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness."
1 Timothy 4:2, "speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared {this is a reference to 'desensitization, unable to discern moral right from wrong} with a hot iron" God will remove His hand from those who continually suppress the truth and run headfirst into sexual immorality. These are God's warnings, not mine. The blood of Christ cleanses all who repent from sin and believe in the gospel. "Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now COMMANDS ALL men everywhere to REPENT" Acts 17:30

These polygamists are blinded by their sin. They suppress the truth, and have been turned over to a depraved mind. They have never been humbled by Almighty God, cried out for forgiveness, repented, and been changed by His Holy Spirit. Their hearts remain unchanged. They are not born again; God has not granted the new birth and given them a new heart and mind.
There comes a point of no return in a sinner's life, by repeatedly denying the truth, they sear their own conscience, unable to discern right from wrong. There's nothing to gain by allowing these polygamists to drag any of us into their continual merry go round. God will bless all who have given His truth, and He will judge those who twist it. If God has turned them over to a depraved mind, there is nothing left for us to do. May God richly bless and keep the blood bought brothers and sisters who rightly divide His word.

BYS- First of all, I don't really care what your profession of faith is, being lost in sin is what sends a soul to hell. Repentance and being born again is the only way, and not according to any church doctrine, but according to God's word. May He humble you, draw you to Christ, and grant you the new birth.

So Standard, for the sake of argument, are you a Roman Catholic? Quit dancing around the issue and playing silly games, accusing others of 'name calling',yet not being clear on what your point actually is.

BYS, you are the one who gave the impression of being Catholic by instructing me to read the articles from the RCC catechism. I never personally said you were a Catholic, I said your harlot church. You are giving others the impression you defend RCC teaching. If you aren't Catholic, then you need to quit inciting spirited debates. Good day sir\madam.

Micheal, AMEN!! Excellent truth, these people have been given over by God to worship their false god; they suppress the truth, they are filled with pride, which births self-righteousness, which births spiritual blindness. They refuse to accept Christ and Christ alone, nothing added to or taken away from the cross.
God bless you Micheal, and all who have repented and believed in the gospel.
