Vic, Do you take the Genesis account in the Bible literally, that is, God created everything in six days?
Yes I do! Trouble is I can't prove it scientifically. I can however, point out the fallacies of evolutionary reasoning, if you can call it that.
I also believe the Genesis account has a purpose higher than a scientific "how God did it". These accounts are rich with prophesy in the parable form, which I fear too many Christians are ignorant of. God breathed into man and he became a living soul. Christ breathed over the congregation in the book of Acts, and they received the Holy Spirit, thus giving the Genesis account a whole new meaning.

I think it is a joke to think the bishop acted out of fear. From my observation, homophobia does not exist. It is not usually fear that brings on the gag reflex.

Show me where in the bible that the king is to steal from the rich, and give to the poor!? Is he not confusing the compassion of the Church with the oppression of the state??
I would prefer he show signs of understanding and zeal for the Constitution of the US, and the Declaration of Independence. Atheist tend to lean Marxist. They don't have a pretty record in history either.
