No Frank. The passage your talking about that Christ says depart from me I never knew you, is refering to those who believed they could work for there salvation instead of simply trusting Christ for there salvation. That's why it referes to those as workers of inequity. Brother you can't make The Lord anthing he already is. And no matter how hard you stop sinning you'll always remain in your fleshly sinful nature.
Wow! Thanks Frank for all the verses on repentance but what does that have to do with anything I said. Note I said repent of all their sins, then trust Christ. Honestly, a lost person doesn't have to repent of any sins to accept The payment of their sins which is the payment Christ paid in full. The only sin that's needed of repenting at that moment denying the gospel. When soul winning, it would be like me telling a unsaved person the he's gotta quit his lying, smoking, cussing, lusting, ect. then believe and trust what Christ has done for them, then they'll be saved. But if they don't then they won't really be saved. How ridiculous.
Secondly, yes Christ is my Lord and Savior just like you. Is my Christ worthy to be obeyed? Ahh yeah! Do I have to obey in order to be or stay saved? Ahh no! Is Christ Lord of my life? Ahh yeah! Not by any of my doings but because he is The Lord.
Do you obey Christ to be saved or because your saved? Do you need to make him Lord of your life because you obey him like some robot or is he The Lord because he's earned that right by his finished work?
Yeah I remember seeing some of this guys street preaching vids. I liked it up to the part when telling people how to be saved, by telling them first they have to repent of allof their sins, then trust in Christ. It's a typical lordship, calvinist teaching.
Cab wrote: God may have given someone a lot of ability and opportunity to serve Him, and those who won't do that, who are lazy as the servant Jesus taught about, can end up in Hell.
What Bible are you reading Cab? No where without twisting or misinterpreting does the Bible say anything about a saved person losing there salvation, instead it reinsurers believers of there salvation.
The Bible clearly says that those who do good works will be rewarded and those who don't will not receive rewards, not lose there eternal salvation.
Contrary to what most people think, John Calvin didn't teach eternal security at all. Calvin insisted that believers must persevere in faith if they are to remain in grace. He believed that the elect will persevere in faith and continue in grace to ultimate final salvation. These damnable heresies are far from the teachings of the Bible. The very fact that Calvinism requires a saint to "persevere" to the end is damnable heresy. Eternal security is the preservation of the saints, NOT the perseverance of the saints.
There is NO way that such men could have been saved because they ADDED works to faith, which is no faith at all. Calvin taught that believers must persevere to the end to be saved. This is works salvation. The reformation was plagued with the remnants of Catholicism, perverting the simple plan of salvation (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4).
