4. What it is clearly talking about in Romans 13, is the institution of government, not the people within the institution of government. 1. Laws do not write themselves.
2. God commands ~ "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." Romans 13:1.
3. This verse is not about obeying the Roman Catholics. It is about obeying your politicians.
4. see #1. Also government is about people and the management and leadership of people, both in government and in the nation. Whether in the position of government or not both are people of the nation trying to run the affairs of community life. Government is not a living breathing entity on its own, but part of the people of a nation. God empowers people not intangible groupings of peoples. |
