Tim, in your circles, have you ever read the book by James R. Beller, ‘America in Crimson Red’ the Baptist History of America? We had the pleasure of hosting him and his dear wife years ago and he graciously gave us quite a few of his books. Good reads.
Sister lb- in my neck of the woods, the IFB is a mixed bag. Some are very legalistic, others not so much. We attended one in our town for a short period of time, but found them to be more focused on politics, and their citizens rights, instead of the worshipping of our Lord and preaching His Gospel of free and Sovereign Grace. My husband after several meetings with the ‘pastor’ and convinced he was never called to preach or teach Gods Word, said it was time for us to go... The assembly that I mentioned in my post to Tim was a very small group of people who loved the Lord and their neighbors as themselves.Precious memories of that time.❤️
Tim, when my husband and myself first came to the Lord, we worshipped at a very small IFB church. They were some of the finest Christians we have probably ever known. The slander that has been hurled at this denomination time and again by John Lee from Wales is repugnant and rightly called libel.
Yes, HM I followed to a tee the protocols.I live in a very rural mountain town out west. All public settings were quite stringent in wearing of face coverings and distancing...but still.🤒. I thank the good Lord for health restored and for His continued mercies to me.🙏
HerbalMama- we gathered together to praise our great God for mercies shown to our family this year, myself and my soon to be daughter in-law are both survivors of the dreaded COVID. No masks, no hand sanitizer, no social distancing, no fear.Lots of hugs and kisses, and praise to our Great God and Savior, for mercy shown to us.
So enjoyed reading the comments from the American SA posters. They are witty, informative, and respectful. Some of the posters from other countries, need to lighten up and refrain from their pontificating and self righteous comments. Please resign as the CEO of the universe. Thank you in advance and have yourself a Merry little Xmas holiday.❄️☃️
To say we are celebrating morons acting like 3 year olds having a meltdown, is an exaggeration at best and a down right lie at worst,..let’s not go into high drama gear. Perhaps you missed Mikes comment where he ended it with “as lawfully possible.” Would be how most Christians would conduct themselves...lawfully.
Mike wrote: There is only one to whom anyone calling themselves Christian owe the bent knee, and he hasn't returned yet. Until such time as he does, and establishes his world order, it is our duty to be as much obstacle to any devil-driven fallen man's "global order" as lawfully possible.
I know several brethren who have been blessed with wealth. They quietly do all the good they can, and blow no trumpets in the streets. It is our Christian duty to maintain good works for necessary uses, that we be not unfruitful.
His God given wisdom and influence, helped to shape the personal and professional walk with Christ for a countless number of Christians. “He being dead yet speaketh”.
