If you're referring to my final sentence YOA, I don't mourn her daeth which is why I posted an intro to her book from Amazon. I said condolances to er family given a loss of a mother will not make life easy for a toddler and an infant. May they still be won to Christ as well her spouse if he is not already saved.

I think I'd do well to just read the articles for a while.

"Fred, I encourage you to stand up for Jesus Christ, no matter what, through thick and thin. Do not be ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ. Take up your cross and follow him in obedience.'

Thank you John Lee, I endeavor to do so. I believe in separation from both sin and apostacy. Perhaps I took you out of context and if so I retract.

From John, "Fred, you talk as if Jesus does nothing to your character, that conversion is similar to joining a club."

Not true, I understand I am to grow in the grace and knowledge of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but I also understand that in my weakness I will need to be strong in His strength. Have you ever read books by Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand or other believers that went through hard persecution as opposed to the soft gradually kind in the west?

Let's be honest if we're putting percentages to the blender metaphor, it's 100% given everyone on here still battles a sin nature and prone to weakness somewhere,... lest we sound like the Pharisee impressed by his own faith instead of praying in humility for strength and grace.

simul justus et peccator-at once justified and a sinner

Lady Bug is right to also call out misogyny, but Held appears more than a feminst given she was disingenuous in many cases in misrepresenting applicable New Testament Christianity seemingly to sell books, mock the faith, or both.

"Pursuing a different virtue each month, Evans learns the hard way that her quest for biblical womanhood requires more than a “gentle and quiet spirit” (1 Peter 3:4). It means growing out her hair, making her own clothes, covering her head, obeying her husband, rising before dawn, abstaining from gossip, remaining silent in church, and even camping out in the front yard during her period.

"See what happens when a thoroughly modern woman starts referring to her husband as “master” and “praises him at the city gate” with a homemade sign. Learn the insights she receives from an ongoing correspondence with an Orthodox Jewish woman, and find out what she discovers from her exchanges with a polygamist wife. Join her as she wrestles with difficult passages of scripture that portray misogyny and violence against women."

Condolences to her family.

Having attended an OPC church for a season in SoCal and visiting others and still in touch with some congregants, I heard zero anti-semitism.

Google PCUSA and anti-Israel bias and you'll read some disturbing politics and the new anti-semetism/anit-zionism.

Appreciate Christopher's viewpoint as oppsoed to the majority that want to throw the Law back in the face of two kids as ooposed to grace.

Excuse the source, but perhaps the line from Madonna's song," Pappa don't preach," applies when the kids surely know they shouldn't have done it and were moments from eternity.

Not to mention, not all Reformed theologians of the Amillennial persuasion have the exact same take the issue. G. Vos seemed to espouse that there would be an end time revival ethnic Jews; and I believe Kim Riddlebarger and John Piper have also moved in that direction. There would then be converted Jewish believers among the end time people of God. This makes the most sense to my understanding of both eschatology and soteriology.

John Lee, great verses from Ephesians on assurance. I wish my eyes were opened in 1979...but the Lord can restore the years the locust has eaten.

Sad that I hear the Welsh still sing the great hymns of the faith with gusto, but not from hearts of flesh.

Lord bless with your ministry and evanglism John Lee UK.

I read with interest considering what the Lord has done on your journey and given some curiosity for the faith of those in the homeland of my mother's family from Wales.

I was raised RCC given my mom married a Catholic (both born again late in life) and they agreed at the time to raise me in that Catholic tradition. Yet I often wonder what role some early influence a Welsh Baptist Church in our PA coal mining city had that I sometimes visited for family events like baptisms. It was there that I was given Hurlbut's Study of the Bible that I became introduced His story. I learned enough to never be drawn to statues or some of the other false doctrines that takes ones eye off of Christ and that we only heard snippets of Scripture during a mass.

Sadly, that Welsh Baptist eventually focused too much on culture and their witness became very dulled over the years and they had to unite with another similar congregation to keep the doors open.

For what it's worth Dolores, TX, I'm not one of the regulars per say, but check enough to know it's good to have your perpsectives considered on here for balance and with appreciation today for your conciliatroy spirit. I's alright that we don't currently all sing from the same hymnal. As you alluded to, we'll make up for it among the saints in glory with perfect harmony and more humility in that day.

What in the world is going on with the Baptist school administrators losing their backbones, first Liberty (Independent Baptist), Baylor and now Wake Forest (both SBC)?

I don't think the Reformed Baptists or Free Presbyterians would be intimidated by leftists making dubious accusations of politically incorrect micro-agressions.

One wonders if some on here have ever been used of the Lord to lead a Roman Catholic to saving faith. It's not a sin to be winsome given the gospel already offends without your topspin. I'm thinking if I listened to some of attidues on here before conversion such as, "Catholics don't worship God," instead of letting go of my filthy works having my eyes opened to faith, I might have been charged with elder abuse by letting my hands do the talking in response. But alas, the Lord was patient with me and I'm not the man I used to be PTL.

The third world Methodists must drive the liberal apostates crazy. The best thing that could happen to any evangelical oriented churches would be a split.

Over 150 churches have left the United Church of Christ in recent years joining Bible-believing groups like the Evangelical Assoc of Reformed and Congregational Christian Churches and CCCC.

Dr. Tim wrote "Read Matthew 12:40. Jesus could not have been crucified on a Friday. It had to be on Wednesday."

Jesus was crucified on the Day of Preparation (Matthew 27:62; Mark 15:42; Luke 23:54; John 19:14, 31, 42)and Mark 15:42 clarifies it was alluding to the usual meaning in preparing for the Shabbat.

From Karl "we need to focus on bigger issues at hand. Such as helping the poor, praying for the persecuted church, and other things of that nature."

I would assume most individual churches and many believers that listen to SermonAudio are already doing this in their local context.

Creeds / Confessions aren't meant to supplant or be placed on equal standing of Scripture, but are meant to summarize and be state what is represented as true in the Bible about such things as the Godhead.
I understand the biblicists saying they only need the bible having gaduated from a uni with teachers mostly from the restoration movement heritage, but the school still needed to list their tenents of faith albeit a skeletal version. Likewise many independent baptist churches get their statement of faith (BBF, GARB and others) from the New Hampshire Confession albeit tweaked to make in less Calvinistic and add in a pre-tirb position. Point being, churches need to have a statement or confession or one risks ending up in a building with someone preaching self-help ala like Joel Osteen.

I agree with the posters that say the term catholic is confusing and with Neil's point about it's weaknesses.

Some denominations such as common among Lutherans have traditionally changed "catholic" to Christian Church.

Reformers saw value in the concise statement given Calvin mirrored the topical order for the first Protestant systematic theology: Instittues of Christian Religion

Book First: Of the Knowledge of God the Creator
Book Second: Of the knowledge of God the Redeemer, in Christ, as first manifested to the fathers, under the law, and thereafter to us under the gospel.
Book Third: The mode of obtaining the grace of Christ. The benefits it confers, and the effects resulting from it.
Book Fourth: Of the Holy Catholic Church
