Ron, you nailed it. His young woman talked about the lack of a father and all the proponents of gay marriage can say is what about me me me. If two gays marry then the kids grow up without a mother. If it's two lesbians they grow up without a father. These things sometimes happen because of death, or divorce, but it used to be called a tragic thing. People would say the home is broken. Now I guess neither sex is needed and does not bring anything unique to the table of family life. BTW, I always wonder how in a lesbian family jars get opened? In my house I am needed for this manly endevour.
Ron wrote:
The most glaring aspect of this whole discussion is the contrast of Heather's other-centered attitude toward the needs of her kids vs the self-centeredness -"my rights" - of the same-sex advocates & LGBT crowd.

Oh if only our culture would give themselves to living the way most of our ancestors did. We would be so blessed as a nation. Lord, return us to the way you want us to live in society. In Jesus Name, Amen

This news can have disastrous results in the future. As more people from other countries come here and have lots of children it is going to change our culture. And these foreigners might not be pro America. In England and France the Muslim population has exploded while English and French folks are not having children. Those countries will have Muslim majorities within 50 yrs.

This is a great point Mark is making. Liberals won't accept it because liberals only view people as a problem. They don't see people as producers. We are reaping the whirwind due to abortion. We've lost productive people, and the value of life. Abortion was supposed to end child abuse, but it didn't happen. You find out that people who dispose of a child before birth, might not be too kind to children they end up having later. Also we reap the consequences. Without these workers entering the workforce our economy is affected. We have to bring in outsiders who do not love America and have a dedication to her.

Jim, that article on Sarah Palin was just garbage. Also how exactly is Sarah Palin a failed mother? If you are talking about her daughter having a child out of wedlock, then you have to point to Sarah and Todd's permissiveness or lack of Christian morality to make such a claim. Could it be that Bristol just sinned on her own? At least she didn't get an abortion.

So, if you read the article that SA put up, as well as the one I have put up, you would have had many of your questions answered.
I was tempted to put up a much more blunt one, about that failed mother Sarah Palin of Tea Party fame, et al, ]]Wingnuts’ war on the troops: The ugly lesson of Bowe Bergdahl and Sarah Palin, which I just now have.

I'd like to marry Lila Rose to one of my sons. She is the kind of daughter in law that I would be thrilled to have. She is doing the Lord's Work, exposing the terrible evil of abortion. May the Lord bless her and the organization.

What do these Lesbian moms do on Father's Day, call it genetic material day? For I guess that is all we men are good for. They have to have us around if they want to become mothers.

Strat, Are you sure about your statements? Do you have Bono's financial records in front of you and know how much he personally gives to charities?

Amazing grace..one man saved by the simple words,"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." What an awesome testimony of this man's salvation and the preacher who led him to Christ and he lived to tell it. One hundred years later, still being told and still touching lives, even on here for those who have never heard this story and are being touched by it.
It happened to the Philippian Jailer too in Acts 16

Yes the man had an abundance of faults, but I find the contrast between the way people want to assume he is lost and want to assume others are saved, you can be a cross dressing child molester and people will say maybe you were saved in the end and rebuke anyone who says otherwise, but an obviously over zelous preacher with no respect for social and cultural norms....well he most certainly has to be in Hell.
I never mentioned the spiritual condition of Phelps our his church. What I referred to, was nasty behavior that is called,"doing the will of God". Here is an example. If I do a funeral for a lost man, I don't tell his family that he is writhing in Hell. I tell them to turn to Christ so they can be saved. In fact their loved one would want them to do this.
I'm not sure you can call protesting funeral services as a fault. It is evil, nasty and without any foundation in the Spirit of God.

Mr Phelps did not appeal to the flesh and we know what an unforgivable sin that is,we see leaders everyday caught in all kinds of scandals involving money, sex and corruption who have secured unshakable support with their used car salesman personalities, but God forbid anyone be accused of not soothing the emotions and sensitivities of the masses,to coddle and cuddle them and stroke their egos and make thenm feel good about themselves.
Mr Phelps was an accomplished civil rights lawyer,so much so that he received recognition from the NAACP but who has mentioned it.
I make no claims of knowing where Mr Phelps is now but should he be in a less desirable place I doubt it will be because of reasons most would assume..pity he did not have the charm of a Joel Osteen or a Benny Hinn for he would have received a much better reception in this life.
My problem with Phelps and his church was the protesting during funerals. You just don't do that. You don't do it ever. People are grieving their dead. It's throwing salt in the wound which is despicable. Whenever I do a funeral and I know the person was unsaved, do you think I tell the family that their loved one is writing in Hell? No,but I tell them to repent and trust in Christ.

As Ned Flanders would say, "He might as well be praying to Hawkman". The Dalai Lama just turn to Christ to have his sins forgiven by Him just as the rest of us has to.

This really is insane. Why would that stupid hotel cave in to those stupid and insane atheists? If I was running that hotel I would have told those atheists to mind their own business and that I would continue to have Bibles in the guest rooms. Why would an atheist complain about the Bible being in the hotel room? The atheist is not compelled to read the Bible.
I can see a Hotel taking the Bibles out of the room while the atheists are there. But to get rid of the program altogether? That's nuts.I am a huge fan of the Gideons.

I would see Rom 5:12 to be about the whole world being affected by sin. You make a great point about Romans 8,which I believe speaks explicitly about what Paul implies in Rom 5:12. He says that through one man sin entered the world. It didn't just enter man. It entered the world. And through sin death came. I believe Paul's comment about death is for the whole world too. If you look back at Genesis 1:30 and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food"; and it was so.
We can conclude that before the Fall there were no meat eaters. People and animals ate vegetation. I believe that before the Fall there was no death at all. Because sin entered the world through one man, then all of that got changed for both man and animals.
I wonder what Pat Robertson thinks of the world before the Fall, or does he even contemplate what sin actually has done to the world? Obviously he would have to have a real Adam and Eve wouldn't he? I do admit some lack of knowledge of the Old Earth position on some of these things.

Wouldn't death be both physical and spiritual. Sure Adam didn't die physically on the day he ate the fruit. It was spiritual. But physical death is also a consequence of sinning against God. It's why I do funerals as a pastor.
Lurker wrote:
Not making an argument for or against old earth; but it depends on how one interprets "death". Did Adam die when he ate of the forbidden fruit as God warned him?
Just something to think about.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned
I would think that the following verse would be a problem for evolutionists, and also could be a problem for old earth proponents. Before Adam there was no death in the world. When he sinned death entered the world, meaning that animals and people face it. I'm not sure what the position is for believers who understand the world and universe to be old. Do they think nothing existed before until a certain point in history? I'll have to study this more.

Bill is just speaking out of ignorance. Perhaps he never read what God said through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
Yeah, that sounds like an evil God doesn't it? That's sarcasm. :-)

I'm 45, and when we had two children I went to my wife and said I wanted to have another child. I cautioned her that if we had another child, then we'd drive used cars. She thought that would be ok, so instead of having one more child we had two more. People today act like we have a ton of kids because we have four.
I fear for those women who choose career over motherhood because the biological clock is ticking. They just might see the clock run out, and feel sorrow for their decision.
Therwel wrote:
In the article it sounds like these young parents are being put off by financial concerns rather than parenthood per se. Todays young women are more geared in modern society towards careers than motherhood. Children have become a financial burden rather than a desired family. Looking back a few decades we see people when they were less well off still aspired to marriage, parenthood and family. But sadly the god of mammon puts financial predictions in a more influential position in todays young minds.
