It is sometimes difficult to comprehend.

The point is the reaction really.

The last Scipture I posted was to do with Jesus and Pharisee's. I can't open your eyes - only The Holy Spirit can do that. Maybe try reading from the beginning - understanding is sometimes given that way.

But sometimes if you don't understand something then you can ask The Spirit to help you. The verse is about how Jesus was treated by the Pharisee's. They only recognised their own authority and even in their hatred had him put to death.

I have simply resorted to only posting Scripture since usually any comment I make someone will come and refer me to scripture.

As Jesus himself noted in one of the gospels, there is a contrary spirit in the religious. 'When I came ... But when I came ... You called me a drunkard etc ..

The High Priest then asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine. Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always meet, and in secret I have said nothing.

Why do you ask Me? Ask those who have heard Me what I said to them. Indeed they know what I said.

And when He had said these things one of the officers who stood by struck Jesus with the palm of is hand, saying "Do You answer the High Priest like that? Jesus answered him, "If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil, but if well, why do you strike Me?
Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the High Priest

Titus 3

Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peace-able, gentle, showing all humility to all men.
For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malic and envy, hateful and hating one another.
But when kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

The Epistle of Paul to Titus.

Titus 1:12 - For their are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.
One of them - a prophet of their own - said: Cretans are always liars, evil beasts and gluttons.
This (the above) testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in faith, not giving heed to Jewish Fables and Commandments of Men who turn from the truth. To the pure all things are pure, but to the defiled nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

I tell you this man went down to his house justified rather than the other for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Luke 18:14

Now, it happened on a certain day as He was teaching, that there were Pharisee's and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Gallilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
Then behold, men brought out on a bed a man who was paralysed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the house-top and let him down with his bed through the tiling, into the midst before Jesus.

What we have given, so we will receive. In full measure.

Psalm 75 Thanksgiving for God's Righteous Judgment.

We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks! For your wondrous works proclaim your name is near.

When I chose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. The earth and all it's inhabitants are dissolved; I set up it's pillars firmly.

I said to the boastful, 'Do not deal boastfully' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up your horn. Do not lift up your horn on high; do not speak with a stiff neck.'

For exultation comes neither from the East nor from the West nor from the South. But God is the Judge. He puts down one, and exalts another.

For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; It is fully mixed and he pours it out. Surely it's dregs shall all the wicked of the earth drain and drink down.

But I will declare forever I will sing praises to the God of Jacob "All the horns of the righteous shall be exalted".

To clarify:
As far as I am aware it is God not Lisa or Ladybug or anyone else on this site who admits or not to eternal life.
It is true He knows his own - but He doesn't tell you or Lisa or anyone else who his own are. This you do all by yourselves - to make yourselves seem righteous in your own eyes.

Correction: Titus 1:15 reads - To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Lisa ... you are not God and God isn't you.
You step over boundaries which is impolite.
These are questions which will be asked on judgement day by an all powerful God, not a guilt ridden, emotional woman on the internet.

The rabid rantings of Bill Maher on this exposé link make one angry and sick at heart at how our Holy God is so basphemed and mocked by the wicked of the "entertainment industry"
Thanks for providing this link, ladybug.
You're so full of yourself Lisa.

Telling others what they should and shouldn't be doing. Getting angry on behalf of your awful awful God who apparently is being blasphemed and mocked by 'the entertainment industry' and needs you to set the world straight.

You know The Simpsons cartoon is quite old now.

Aren't you just looking for excuses to be outraged - looking for scapegoats?

We Christian's don't need scapegoats we have The Lamb of God. Jesus is not going to be very happy with people who claim to be a friend of His who then set about seeking goats to ease the burden of the sin and guilt they carry.

Piece of dung? Is this how your master speaks?

how many young people will think that God is evil from this film and not understand that man was choosing great evil in those days, and that Christ is Savior for the world.
Purely emotional responses ... you are entertaining.

The film didn't get anywhere near depicting The Creator as evil but did a very nice job of showing men as evil.

Religious fruit cakes are doing a nice job of that thanks right in front of the experts.

Again - if you aren't going to make fools of yourselves either don't comment on the movie if you haven't seen it - or go and see it and then make an informed comment. This is how humans usually go about it.

By the way, Christ isn't personally mentioned in the story of Noah. You don't seem to have even bothered to read your Bible.

It certainly is easy to get you guys overcome by your own emotions. I'm going to enjoy this.

To the martyrs, is it not written The Creator has power over life AND death?

That The Creator gives life and takes it away?

See where it is written 'they will want to die but can not'?

This, in my study, I have been pondering over. Is there any one here who can shed light on this strange passage?

My husband and I went to see Noah last night. We enjoyed it. It was interesting to see what an atheist interested in the story would make of it. (At least we understand the makers were not claiming to be Christians.). We thought they tried to compare Noah's day with today to some extent. Noah was not a hero in the movie, there were no hero's. The family wasn't perfect. The Creator provided in the end, but the characters were impatient and wanted things to turn out the way they thought they should.
The rock beings were simply an attempt to explain how Noah made the ark seemingly with only the help of his sons. Not a very good one. It was a movie about consequences. It's called art. Instead of criticising others work why don't Christians get together and make a better job of it. I think you will find more evil in other movies.
This my anathema (above)

I would be afraid of a Creator who can destroy his own temple repeatedly if I were you.

The world does not hate you. The world hates Me.

I thought the point was the hilarity of an insignificant cloister of control freaks and legalists and their outrage over anything other people are doing which you haven't sanctioned first.

Evil appears to be whatever you say it is, and is the subject you are most interested in - the evil in others that is.

You appear to believe if you say a thing The Creator is obligated to agree with you.

I thought the main theme was the subject of evil residing in others and how to condemn it within a purely legalistic framework. You remind me of hyena's.

You don't so much offer informed opinions as follow each other into a labyrinth of apoplexy.

You seem to view yourselves as authorities on every subject, and think being righteous depends on making others 'unrighteous'.

Nasssty little Christianessse.

I'm just helping you to understand how you are viewed out there in the world you have nothing to do with.

I'm pretty sure I made it clear the movie does not claim to be biblically correct.

I was unaware I was promoting it. I thought you guys were with your protestations.

Yes. I would have made the set more like the world we live in today based on the statement "the last days will like the days of Noah"

The story is pre-flood mostly - in those days sinners were destroyed by water. Only one family were saved - except that Ham and Japeth weren't as saved as one might have hoped. Strangely Noah turned out to be right - the flood hadn't got rid of evil after all.

Again I say I agree, the movie was not biblical. Thank you for allowing me to exercise my choices.

I personally will be sure not to add anything or subtract anything from the word of God.

Again, it has been nice talking about evil with you. May the force be with you. Over and out.

I suppose most people know it is easy to fall into the trap of finding evil where ever you start digging.

I'm sure I mentioned the part of the film which I found most interesting. That was when Noah, (at least Russell Crow playing a character called Noah)looked on the evil of the men of his generation and realised he was looking at himself, and his sons and his women.
I thought to myself ... how amazing ... this atheist knows something many do not.

Be careful not to dismiss other sources of evil you need to keep away from. You can't be too careful these days.

Tell me something? If I told you I hadn't read the Bible would you listen to a single word I said on the subject of the Bible. Wouldn't you go to an expert?

The same principle applies when you say you haven't seen a thing and then begin to lecture others on the evil contained within it.

I find no inconsistency with the posts you dredge up ... perhaps the inconsistency in your heart and mind, perhaps also that is where resides the anger and irritation.

Are you surprised that I might enjoy a thing not sanctioned by Michael H?

That the movie has escalated from unbiblical to occult is also astounding!

Are you SURE you haven't seen this movie?
You appear to be such and authority on it. I do not see your opinions being largely respected in the greater scheme of things. In fact all I hear is mockery.

All I say is you bring this on yourselves.
